Get away for a day!

Life can be busy as I am sure we all know. To take a break and just get away for one night can definitely be relaxing. I took the family out for a bed and breakfast for one night at Hedrick Exotic Animal Farm in Nickerson, Kansas.

The Giraffe in the first and second picture is the MVP of all the animals his name is Benjamin and he loves sweet potatos, also the tour guide said he will try to eat anything on your head within tongues reach, which we were told is 18 inches long from where it is connected.

Here in this picture my daughter Zoey is feeding the MVP Benjamin a sweet potato!

Not many can say they have hand fed a kangaroo! My daughter Isabelle is the shyest person that I know of, she was so amazed by the kangaroos that she completely forgot about always being nervous and for a moment enjoyed the beauty of such animal as the kangaroo!

Now for something that will have you at awe, atleast it had me blown away to where I couldn't keep my eyes off of it. I even had the luxury of petting this animal. I present to you, the Watsui, an african cow with horns that are more intimidating than the children of the corn! Haha!!!

The Alpacas were beautiful, the Ostriches were a little intimidating because they looked like they wanted to bite you as you approached, but the tour guide explained that their scent glands are in their mouth and they taste the air to smell you. Also the tortoise that lives up to 200 years and is always a great family heirloom, just kidding, its a very big turtle that does not live in the water because it weighs a lot and would drown per the guide!!!!

All in All it was definitely approved by the family, as there were smiles and exhaustion from all the fun!

This is definitely a vacation that will stay in the memories for a long time, and requires very little planning!

Thank you for stopping by, and hope you enjoyed the pictures!

HAHA, Benjamin!!! That dudes tongue is hilarious man.

That's so awesome that Izzy loved the kangeroos...I was shocked at how soft they were haha.

Glad you all had fun bro! We should take parents down there one year--I think they would love it too.

I think they would enjoy it very much. I sent dad a text message of Benji and me selfie and told him check out my new best friend, he texted back and said you have a very nice friend or beautiful friend I don't know exactly how to translate it correctly, haha.
