Hi it's me again, Jack Miller (@jackmiller), posting on behalf of the family here.
Some may remember, some may not, the first post that I put up on my personal wall was in fact a financial plan, more so a means to monitor our financial successes and failures as time zooms on by!
The title of the post was:
"From $0 TO A $1 MILLION in 28 steps"
Then as an update to that post came:
"UPDATE / STATUS REPORT on: "From $0 TO A $1 MILLION in 28 steps" 26 days later."
& the last update was about three months ago:
"Still Working On It: "FROM $0 TO A $1,000,000.00 in 28 steps"
(all three links are at the bottom of this post)
Well, we are still working on it, there is no giving up!
We haven't included this in our house fund or our Steemit tracking here, as these two mentioned sources/funds are reserved for our HOME, our plan to buy a piece of land this year and get the new family home up. "A roof over my family's head" as I often refer to it.
However, a family has to live, kids that decide to go to university (College as my mates Stateside call it) need to be helped along financially, we "oldies" need to retire one day, even if that be by then at a ripe legal age of 99, because it seems that every decade the threshold for a legal retirement seems to go up, I'm not sure where it is now, but at this rate it shall probably be 99 years of age by the time we get there!
Basically, as you can see below we have divided up the steps from $0.01 to $1,000,000 into 28 steps.
"Doubling up" as some may call it.
To us it is a way to monitor where we are at with making an extra quid or two.
o Step 1: "Find a cent lying on the ground"
o Step 2: 1 cent-2 cents
o Step 3: 2 cents-4 cents
o Step 4: 4 cents-8 cents
o Step 5: 8 cents-16 cents
o Step 6: 16 cents-32 cents
o Step 7: 32 cents-64 cents
o Step 8: 64 cents-$1.28
o Step 9: $1.28-$2.56
o Step 10: $2.56-$5.12 (Call it $5 to make it easier)
o Step 11: $5-$10
o Step 12: $10-$20
o Step 13: $20-$40
o Step 14: $40-$80
o Step 15: $80-$160
o Step 16: $160-$320
o Step 17: $320-$640
o Step 18: $640-$1,280
o Step 19: $1280-$2560
o Step 20: $2560-$5120 (Call it $5000 to make it easier)
o Step 21: $5000-$10,000
WE ARE UP TO HERE RIGHT NOW (Step 22)
o Step 22: $10,000-$20,000
o Step 23: $20,000-$40,000
o Step 24: $40,000-$80,000
o Step 25: $80,000-$160,000
o Step 26: $160,000-$320,000
o Step 27: $320,000-$640,000
o Step 28: $640,000-$1280,000
Looks like we are "stuck" at step 22, however I can with a lot of relief say that we are not far from step 23.
As was expected, the first 20 steps were not that hard, well, they weren't easy, but they went by really quickly because they are smaller amounts. So obviously that part of this "savings" plan in any "business endeavour" gets done really quickly.
Obviously we have got the more serious stages, where a lot more effort needs to be put in. Sure, there were some hiccups along the way, our eldest son is kind of "on and off" with his dedication to helping out, I guess "girls and going out are his priorities in life" nothing unusual for many youngsters his age. He'll learn, as life goes on! We all did!
The purpose of this post is to show that we are working hard on all fronts to make a new start for ourselves in Australia, we are not just sitting around and waiting for a pot of gold to fall from the sky. Yeah sure, we play the lottery every now and then, a "Quick Pick" ticket, keeping our fingers crossed for it, but not actually expecting it!
Maybe all these figures and ideas and our dedication to financial freedom after starting from scratch again seem a little out of reach or "just wishes" to some people out there. Let me tell you, WE HAVE DONE IT BEFORE, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN!
Goals are not there to be "wished for", goals are there to be achieved with dedication and constant loyalty towards achieving them. No procrastinating and "bullsh#tt#ng".
Money talks, "bullsh#t" walks!
Simple as that.
Step by step, cent by cent, dollar by dollar, it all adds up.
So, here it is, our latest and greatest update, after some 7 months. Not an update that could break the news headlines, but a realistic and down to earth, outright open and honest report showing progress along the way.
Thanks for reading

Congrats on passing $20k.
Great concept, and you're making amazing progress. :)
Slowly but surely.
A new start isn't easy, we are finding out the "hard way" but it isn't the first time we've done it, so we know that we have to keep at it. NO GIVING UP!
Starting over is bloody challenging, especially when you do it halfway through your working life.
And when you have a family you're not allowed to give up. :P
You'll get there though! You and your wife have some fantastic projects on Steemit to keep you very busy and earning plenty of crypto.
Mate, Steemit has given me so much new hope as far as crossing off the new family home off our list.
This waiting for the sale of property half way across the world to happen in a totally dead real estate market here just isn't happening. So we have to make it happen using other means and Steemit has seriously given some light at the end of that bloody tunnel!
& I'm no longer qualified for my last line of work (so to say).... could be, but realistically speaking, would be a danger to everyone, including myself, so that just isn't something that I would ever want to do to anyone, had enough experiences with wanna be's and yahoos.
Good @millers
