I hear these names repeatedly every day on top of Uncle and Auntie’s names of course. Our dear @smallsteps is playing with her tiny lego characters and they are called Bob, Betty, Charlie Brown and Janet Jackson. Don’t ask me why, ask @galenkp.
She is taking these lego dolls everywhere so that they could see what’s going on. Today Charlie Brown was staring at the laundry machine because I was told that he has never seen one before. I have also cleaned porridge from Bob's first meal, saved Betty from the balcony and Janet Jackson from the sink. Janet was brushing her teeth.
It’s clear that our daughter misses her Uncle and Aunty very much and I think this game with the figurines that they invented with Uncle keeps them somehow closer to her.
Today our neighbour was doing some hammering and I asked our daughter what the sound was. “Uncle and Aunty” was the answer. I told her that they are at home and the next thing she said was: “@smallsteps will go there”. Again, I explained that their home is very far and unfortunately, we are not able to visit but we can call. She settled with that.
On our way to the beach she mentioned them again, probably because she was swimming with them a lot during the week, but this time she asked us to call them. The other tricky thing is the time difference and we had to say we will call tomorrow.
It’s hard enough for us adults to deal with the distance but how to explain all this to a two-year-old?
Hugs, Momone
Aww, We miss her so much. We’ll do a video call this weekend so we can say hello and hopefully make it a bit easier for her to cope with us being gone. She’s such a smart kid and it was so much fun playing with her and I’m glad the names I made up for her LEGO people stuck with her.
xxx Miss you all heaps!
It was a pity that she had just hurt her lip and was a bit upset when you guys called. But let's call soon again! We miss you too. xxx
xx
