He was a young Muslim man who was transporting furniture, but to accommodate people he shifted the furniture as much as he could, and discarded what wasn’t fitting to make sure they could travel comfortably. He paid for everything himself and offered to get tea for everyone at regular intervals. He dropped my father off at Andheri and continued his journey to drop the rest off. My father then swam to reach home, only at 10:30 PM. He had cuts and bruises, he was hungry and cold but somehow he still had a smile on his face. Humanity won that day and even though he may never see those who helped him again… they touched his life in a way that he’ll never forget.
