Despite all the new additions, we tend to stick to our favorite tradition—relaxing on the beach. However, we still took some time to explore and see what had changed. One thing that stood out was how many more seating areas, food spots, and drink stations had been added, making it even easier to find a perfect place to unwind.
A Windy Day on the Island
The weather was a bit windy, which meant that certain activities were unavailable for safety reasons. The ocean water was also on the colder side due to the winter season, which made us hesitant to spend too much time swimming. However, that didn’t stop many guests—especially the kids—from enjoying the waterslides and splash zones, which remained as busy as ever.
A Surprise 5K Challenge
One new addition I noticed was that Disney had officially designated a 5K trail for runners who visit Castaway Cay. As someone who enjoys a fitness challenge, I decided to give it a try. The course wasn’t too difficult, though it lacked much shade, which made parts of it feel extra warm. The wind became a challenge in one stretch, but I pushed through and finished in under 30 minutes, which is always my personal goal. Completing the run earned me a special Disney souvenir, which was a nice touch and made the effort even more rewarding.
Cold Plunge Recovery & Beachside Relaxation
After finishing the 5K, I joined my daughter for a quick dip in the ocean to cool down. Given the chilly water temperature, it felt like a natural cold plunge, which was refreshing after the run. We only stayed in for about 10 minutes, but it was enough to feel rejuvenated before heading back to the beach chairs to relax.
Soaking in the Last Moments
Since this was the last full day of our cruise, we wanted to soak up as much relaxation as possible before heading back to the ship. We enjoyed a leisurely meal, lounged by the beach, and simply took in the views of the island one last time.
Eventually, it was time to board the ship again and start packing, marking the end of another incredible family adventure. Castaway Cay has always been a special place for us, and it was the perfect way to wrap up our Disney Cruise experience.
Now, with our memories made and souvenirs in hand, we’re already thinking about our next adventure—because with Disney, there’s always something magical waiting just around the corner.
