One we get world-wide high-speed satellite Internet, which Elon Musk is pursuing, there will be a lot of now-cheap land opened up! With world-spanning Internet, the psychological toll of isolation - "cabin fever" - will be gone, and folks in the hinterland will be able to keep up with the world like big-city folks do.
I lived in the mountains in 2009 without Internet, and it was great. The Internet is not needed to have a great life in nature. In the city maybe it adds value to life, but not in the mountains or country side.
