Family Does Not Have To Be Blood Related

Family can be either blood related or not. Close friends and groups can be considered as family. Sometimes they can even be trusted more and relied on than blood relatives. Here in #steemit I have lots of family. Not all are in one group but spread out. It means they are my friends and have been with me thru my journey here in #steemit.

#SteemitDiversify was the first ever group that invited me and which I joined when I started on #steemit. I was grateful that there was a group of people who were willing to help us and guide us. Our mentors @iwrite and @antonette were very accommodating. There were a lot of members. Sometimes a very large group can cause conflict and some misunderstandings. That can not be helped. Not everyone is the same and not every one has the same goals and values. We all came from different walks of life and different ages.

There were mothers, teachers, nurses, engineers, single-moms, students, unemployed, gov't. workers, self-employed, online teachers, bankers, OFWs and many more. From the Visayas, Luzon, Mindanao and Manila areas. Different dialects and different religions. We even had a few foreigners lol.

But because of the differences many problems came up, there was jealousy, people putting down other people, greediness, and just simple misunderstandings. The group dispersed. Maybe the leaders were wrong in closing all gc without warning, but a few strong held on. After a while we re-banned again. We got lesser and lesser but still what matters is the quality, not the quantity.

I still have friends not in the group anymore but I still consider my family. I never left them alone, we still communicated and help each other.

More problems happened and now the group is only 11. I hope someday we may add to it again. But those not in the group for certain reasons are still my family and friends. I never left this group. I just want to stay in one group where we can talk and discuss and help each other. Like a home to go to after a hard day's work. A place where we can chat and laugh. I am also a member of other groups which I try to be active but with my SD family we are open and have fun not just work and posting but also teasing but of course we have pointers given too.

We are only 11 so far, the 12th member is the One Above know by the different names God, Jehovah, Allah, Buddha, and Brahman. Maybe many more but this was all I could find hehe. HE is the 12th and most important member because without Him we cannot do anything.

Just because I have these people as my family doesn't mean I am ignoring the others. I still have my extended family like @jovema, @bobiecayao, @iyanpol12, @shohana1, @wagun001, @mariarubie, @ardapyan, @stbrians and more (pls don't be offended if I forgot you blame old age and forgetfulness hehehe). There are some I am hesitant to mention because they seemed to be ignoring me and my posts hehe but that is ok because I will still be here for them if they need me. I hate to carry grudges and unless there is a really good reason, because it gets heavy on the shoulders.

But my biggest family are @surpassingoogle, @henry-gant, @paradise-found, @hr1, @teamsteem, @bayanihan, @anomadsoul and the others I mention at the end. These are my big-shot family, without them I would not have succeeded or encouraged to keep on going. These are the mentors, the dolphins, and whales of #steemit. It is not only me but so many others they have helped.

So I think it is ok to have a family or group on Steemit but it doesn't mean you should ignore the others or put them down. We are all equal here.

Even if the SBD has gone down, just keep on going, keep on steeming, and don't give up, there is always a rainbow after the storm, a sun after the night and friends to help you along the way.
