Life has been crazy busy lately! Every time I look at my kids I swear they grow another inch and look more and more like little adults. A couple days ago I took my son, Damian, and daughter, Vanessa, to the park and we had a picnic dinner. It seems like just yesterday I would have to hold their hands walking anywhere and monitor their every move on the play-set.
I had to force them to eat before they played, but they listened to me for the most part. As soon as the food was gone they took off! Damian, who just turned 4 this month, ran and found a friend right away. He has the biggest imagination and they were pretending they were being chased by monsters. Vanessa will be 2 in October. She is fearless climbing the stairs and sliding down the slides all by herself.
After an hour of play we decided it would be best to head out, but not before stopping for ice cream. The town we were in, Excelsior, has a very well know ice cream shop called Licks Unlimited. Damian picked out mint chocolate chip and Vanessa got raspberry sorbet because she is sensitive to dairy.Damian finished all of his, but I had to help Vanessa finish hers :)
The older I get, and trust me I still feel plenty young, the more time with family becomes important. Even the little annoyances of dealing with babies or little kids are things you will miss as they grow into new stages of life.
This evening out was nothing I had to put much thought into, but we had so much fun and the kids love the time spent with daddy.
I hope you enjoyed this post!
