The message you highlighted is so important and beautiful. It is quite easy to feel frustrated when your kids don't respond and behave the way you want to and not talking to them seems like our go-to reaction, but this reaction often results in undesirable consequences. My son is only 4 so I haven't been through instances with him where I'd have to stop talking to him, but I have seen my grandma and mother do that with their sons and often this results in a barrier between the parents and the children. It is quite difficult to bring yourself to be the first person to bridge the gap especially when you haven't wronged the other person, but if you do manage to do that, you can resolve the conflict.
