Visiting the Egg Lady is always a priority when the grand-kids are up. The walk is about 1/4 mile up the road. When I say up I mean that literally.

Our first stop was to see the new miniature goats she had just got earlier this month. Most of the animals on her farm are rescue animals. This pair of goats were given to her by someone who no longer wanted them and was going to have a vet put them down. She traveled back to NJ to pick them up.
Same situation with this miniature pot bellied pig.(rescued) She also has 5 dogs, 3 of which she provided a home for before being put down by the dog shelter. 🤞🤞🤞
Very lucky animals, as she provides them with 1st class accommodations.
This is always my favorite part of our visit as she provides us with a constant supply of farm fresh eggs.
!
Here is the BOSS, the only male in the bunch. A male is referred to as the Rooster or cock.
For him it must be like living in heaven, unless his harem is clucking away.
The grand kids love collecting eggs, unless they get pecked while trying to gather the eggs.😢😢😢
Stopping buy the horses is always exciting. The question always remains the same, can we ride them. We always bring carrots or apples to feed them, but this time we blew it, forgetting to bring anything for them to nibble on.
This is the Egg Lady in all of her glory. She continues to amaze me. This is a picture of her on a tractor. My wife went to get some eggs and drop off some Maple Syrup in exchange, and her cousin was just heading back to the barn to park the tractor. She had just removed a very large tree that had fallen across her driveway during the night. After cutting it into long sections, she chained them up, hooked them to the rear of the tractor, and pulled them out of the way.
She does everything on her farm without the assistance of her husband who passed away 2 years ago.
She continues to set the bar when it comes to keeping up with all of the chores.
Her place is always as neat as a pin.
She is the BOMB!
Hope you enjoyed! thebigsweed
Thank you. I enjoyed it -- the goats were cute. I suppose the hens peck because their (potential) "children" are being stolen, and they haven't worked out the exchange of egg production = continued food/shelter.
Glad you enjoyed. After exchanging pleasantries, and just glancing over your content, I said to myself, " Never too old to learn, this gentleman could probably teach me a thing or two. Asked my wife to join me for a few minutes to let her in on on someone I had just added to our follow list. We read this together and in harmony, we laughed out loud.
Busy time of the year, and when things settle down a little I will have some real time to check out your stuff. looking forward to it.😊😊😊
Enjoy whatever holidays you celebrate.
Howdy sir bigsweed! wow what a great place to visit, the egg lady! The kids are going to have those visits as a treasured memory their whole lives, what a wonderful lady. Chains on tractor tires! For the snow and ice I assume, interesting. Great post sir!
Thanks for the compliment.
The memories will last for generations, at least this is my plan.
When i built this place we had 3 of our four children. 7,6,4, all the boys
I believe many of their fondest memories are from up here, spending time together as a family.
It is kind of cool to have children that love to hang out with their parents.
In the summer they all take a good part of their vacation from the rat race, visiting THE FARM.
The Egg Lady is the real deal, tough as they come.
howdy again bigsweed! oh that is so wonderful. You have made some great choices that will benefit future generations, like you said!
That is the plan, and with a little luck I will be watching from above.
Howdy today sir bigsweed! haha! with a little luck? So you have an "insurance policy" in place right? lol.
