Drawing with my Niece and Nephew

Yesterday I found myself at my twin sister's place and - while my sister and I were enjoying a coffee - my niece and nephew ( who asked for a movie first and didn't get a YES ), started doing what they often do: drawing.

In fact, my 5 and a half year old niece, Yumi, started some kind of speed drawing, coming up with two dozen or so drawings in a minute or 10. A series of drawings that were slightly similar but all different .

She was clearly in a flow state.

Unfortunately I don't have pictures of that speedy art but this picture was taken a little earlier:

Suffice to say that it was starting to get harder and harder for my 7 and three seasons old nephew - who takes some more time for his drawings - to find empty sheets of paper.

The day before ( I spend the night in their half a century old camper van on their land ), I had made some drawings for them, on demand, that M and Y colored, as pictured below ( and on top ).

But, in all honesty, I really enjoy to see them come up with their own creations.

Like these training dinos, created by Miko:

Top left: dino pulling itself up
No idea what the tiny one next to it is doing
Top right: dino on a treadmill
The other two are clearly lifting weights haha!

Miko told me that his 'quick' coloring was due to the pencils going empty. I like his coloring style though.

And this tortoise is drawn by Yumi:

A focused Yumi who starts to get really good at actually putting the caps on her coloring pencils nowadays aside from getting a skilled drawer.

Just now I decided to create an account for the two of them. They can't get started with crypto young enough ;<)

I have no idea how active they will get on here - they are being home schooled and actually have plenty of time - but knowing how they pick up on their uncle's / my interests ( Miko asking me to draw a dino and drawing dinos himself tells you enough ), they might be seriously interested.

In fact, they will have a sleep over at my place ( Tuesday on Wednesday ) for the first time in ages, so I can't promise I'll post with them one of those days.

I realized I could post this from their new account but I might do an introductory post too and have to talk with their parents about this first. Also it would be fun if Miko and Yumi help me with that write up ;<)

TO BE CONVINUED...

50% of the pay outs of this post will go to the freshly created @mikoandyumi You could give them a follow but I will probably reblog their posts so if you follow my account you likely won't miss out on them.

Nawww ^_^ working with tiny kids is great. Also reminded me of my big two storyboarding with me...[checks the year]...a decade ago x_x

I was storyboarding and they were doing their own thing in the extra sheets I printed for them

I reckon the tiny dino is either coaching or spotting for the dino doing chinups XD (only because I initially thought it was doing weights in which case it would be a spotter).

They might be like my kids and start slow and stop or never start. In which case you'll just have to do the "trust fund" thing for them til they're old enough to understand what it's all about ;D (which might happen soon or might not happen til they're well into adulthood, my kids know a bit about crypto but hive is way too much hard work for them at the moment -_-

How much did you get to draw with them or did the paper run out too fast? :D

That's so cool, and nice to see kids who aren't glued to some type of screen 😂

I will look out for thier art works on hive Vincent👍

How are you keeping? I don't think I've spoken to you since before the panic-demic. I was away from online stuff for some time dealing with family issues.

I actually watched 'Howl's Moving Castle' with them the night before and that morning ;^)

They like staring at screens but spend most of the time running around, jumping on the trampoline, drawing, playing games and doing whatever kids do outdoor. Full of energy and great examples of the importance of being in the now.

I am doing pretty good these days. Feel free to find me on Discord to catch up ;^)

I'm not on discord much these days, but I do drop in to promote posts. I'll hollar at you next time I log in to discord m8 to have a catch up 🙂

I really enjoy seeing the kids happy to draw and painting! This is a nice post, my friend.

Thank you! They are amazing human beings and I love to see them create or co-create with them :^)

Wow, amazing. This is a good painting. Cool dinosaurs!

It sure is! Thank you :^)

Your welcome brother. :)

That's so cool! And real quality family time :) I will give them a follow in case they get active ;)

Cool! I am sure you won't regret this! :^)

Cool of you to onboard them, I can certainly testify Hive has actually been a very valuable component of our homeschooling curriculum. I love all their drawings, all they need is a story to go with it and they're taking after their uncle.

Little artists!
