How to win back space from your children?

Have you ever seen such a workspace?

That is actually our kitchen table, where our older son plays, eats and watches youtube. Regularly I work in the kitchen at night when everyone is in their rooms asleep. We do not have a separate room for me to work in our apartment. Anyway, I like to work in the kitchen because I can regularly take breaks between work and eat something or drink coffee.

To tell you the truth I don't know the answer to the question of how to win space from your children when they are taking up so much space with their toys.

We can either:

  1. Buy fewer toys
  2. Make our children put their toys in a separate box in the evening
  3. Don't let them play where you work
  4. Punish them when they make a mess

Personally, I only like the second choice. I try to do that regularly, but it does not always work. My child has so many toys in every room, that it is hard to pack it together with him :)) I love my children so much that I don't even mind them making a mess and taking up all my space. As soon as my son hugs and kisses me I will forgive him everything.

So I would advise to take it easy and give your kids a break sometimes

Parenting can be very tough because every child is individual and you have to find keys for each one. What is good for one is bad for another. The most important thing is to love them and sometimes be strict so that they don't sit on your head.

Sort:

Interesting enough they may not know what they do is bad by filling up all spaces

Yeah, and I would not say that it is bad, really. They are just playing, this is what they should be doing to grow up :))

Exactly

You have a funny story and maybe every parent will feel it, I have not felt how to be a father. But from your story, I understand how much you love your son, but in one side you have to work without any disturbance.
But behind all that, the family remains the most important of all.

Totaly agree with you, when I really need to work I go to the office, because it is absolutey imposible to work when kids are awake :))

In the living room we put a rug on the floor where they can play on , when they need moor space they go to their room , works perfect

Yeah, don't get me wrong our children also have a rug in the living room, not only in the kitchen :)) . It is like a playground in our house. It is just that they play everywhere around the house.

i see what you mean , that was also our problem, now we put a toy box at the rug and with those toys they can play and every few days we change the toys ,
first few days we had to pointed them on the rug but now it is working great.
keep in mind that you're not the first one en sure not the last one with this problem
have a great day
