That campaign with a knife was done after 515 babies died between 1990 thru 1997 while sleeping with a parent. Child protective service workers have no choice but to go check out a complaint, the answer could be as simple as finding someone in need of a crib or giving proper placement position instructions as to not get themselves sued if a baby dies after someone reported it. I think there would have to be a whole lot more wrong to warrant removal then just the fact the baby may spend some nights sleeping with a parent.
