The story of a Russian mom whose newborn was illegally taken away shook the whole country!
The past year has become unprecedented in the number of illegal seizures of children by juvenile services throughout Russia. Every month, information was received from different regions about the withdrawal of children from well-off families on far-fetched proposals. The Perm region attracted special attention of the public this year.
How it was...
On January 1, 2016, the juvenile justice workers came after the birth of the child to the village where the young couple lived, and compiled an act on the shortage of firewood for heating, the lack of food, and other "reasons" for the removal of children. Surely, it was far from the truth. The family has not a very rich life, but the conditions were good.
Further, under the threat of immediate withdrawal of the child, the girl was forced to come to a special hospital "until their living conditions improve." A month later Mom was simply kicked out of the hospital without any documents. Juvenile justice workers even didn't check up improvement of conditions in the house that once again confirms, that it was only an occasion.
First time, Mother regularly visited the baby, wore her necessary things, diapers, while in February the head physician of the district hospital forbad visits. Later, mother learned that the baby was discharged without her knowledge to the baby house in Perm.
All this time the inconsolable mother went to all instances with naive requests to give her baby back, but she received only formal refusals. She wrote applications for custody, called, went to the hospital, but the child was hidden and was not allowed to see!
August 8, 2017, Mom learned about the impending trial of deprivation of her rights. She was not even notified about it, the only reason - they just wanted to do everything without her. When she came to the court, she met a woman who would be an adoptive mother for HER baby!!! and then the baby was in her house for 3 months already!
Then Mom understood all hidden reasons of this cruel circus - a rich childless woman wanted to have a baby so mch that she was ready just to take her from alive mom! She will be adopt a baby who has alive and healthy parents, who are struggling to take her back... And juvenile justice, police, courts and all the rest were just members of one team, well-paid team.... It's just hard to put these absurd ideas into a head of a normal person, but it is happening now...
Mother understood that she could protect her rights and return the child only if this case became known throughout the country and the society would see illegal actions. Only struggle of society and mass-media could defeat this cruel collusion of a distraught adoptive mother and authorities ....

I had not seen that image before, but it sure describes what these government systems do.
I only wish that more and more people would realize it too, rather than assuming that if the government takes someone's children away that it must mean that that they are terrible parents.

I worked in child welfare for 9 years, and poverty was one of my biggest arguments. Regularly I would tell people, "It is not against the law to be poor!", and it would make them think, just for a moment, that they were being unreasonable. But it was only for a moment. This is a frame of thought that needs to change.

That's so very disgusting. What the parents must be going through is hell. I feel so sad for the mother, and the other rich lady, she wants to become a mother but has no heart of a mother to understand the real mother's pain :-(
