Daisies, Daisies (Pokemon Fanfiction) #WriteMore

The daisies became a blur as Shiloh raced through them, forcing patterns in the long grass and severely disrupting the peace. Above her, Scout, her scruffy-feathered pidgeotto soared through the cloudless sky. The two were quite an unimpressive pair, and many would debate which of the two were the most wild-spirited. One could argue Scout learnt her madness from Shiloh, but the bird was always the devil on the child’s shoulder, egging her to go further, push further than she’d ever been before. The child delighted in it. After all, if it weren’t for Scout's enthusiasm, she wouldn’t be sprinting across the field of daisies in the first place. She had been relatively unsure she was allowed to be here, but all that was forgotten now, as she cartwheeled and laughed raucously among the flowers. Her unkempt hair flying behind her in a craze.

Just outside of the field of stood Thomas, her anchor in her world of chaos. He nervously fidgeted and watched his best friend carelessly crush every single item of foliage in her way. Teddy scratched at Thomas’ leg in an attempt to watch the action and understand why his trainer was so anxious. The Teddiursa’s dull claws poked him tirelessly. Giving up on his relentless calling to Shiloh, he bent down to allow the Pokémon to climb on his back.

“We’re going to get into trouble!” He yelled, his last attempt at talking sense into her.

Of course, it was ‘we’. It was always ‘we’, even though it should be ‘her’. He never did anything wrong except be in the wrong place and the wrong time.

He considered walking back to camp but coming back without Shiloh might raise suspicions. So instead, he made his way slowly into the field of daises, trying his best not to crumple any flowers and give away his position. If he sat down, he should be invisible.

Suddenly there was a high-pitched warning screech from above.

Thomas jumped and searched the sky, shielding his sensitive eyes from the sun.

Sure enough, a patrolling Swellow had appeared and was definitely not impressed.

Uh oh…

Shiloh definitely would have heard the warning and, if she had any sense in her, would be running back his way soon. He stood up, his head above the sea of flowers to get a look at how far she was but was greeted with a swift blur of a yellow sundress and immediate pain in his thigh as Shiloh’s knee smashed into his leg.

“Sorry!” Shiloh got up quickly and grabbed the shoulder of Thomas shirt. “Quick, we need to run or else we’ll get in trouble.”

Ain’t that always the case…
