End of the Season Trap

If you're in a fantasy baseball pool here is something you need to think about.

You know that stacked team you worked so hard to build during the entire season?
Those last minute trades you made to boost your team in a tight race you have going into the final weeks of the season?
Here is something you need to think about.
You may want to consider dropping players on teams that have clinched a playoff spot.
Real baseball managers in real life MLB are gonna start resting their superstars.
They will stop getting at bats.
Or they won't stretch the single into a double to make sure they don't get injured.
They won't steal as many bases
Or there is pressure from the club owner on the manager to bench him to be fresh for the playoffs.

So how is the last 2 weeks of your fantasy roster gonna look?

If your fantasy league comes down to the last day or 2 of the season you may end up with 90% of your team on the bench. Are your remaining players available going to pull you through the end of the season?
Sure, some guys like Trout will show up 365 days a year.
Stanton will continue to mash the ball for home runs even though Miami has quit playing.
Try to get guys on teams that are in a tight playoff race.
Make sure you use up all of your available innings.
This may mean dropping Sale with 4 days left in the season to make room on your roster for someone pitching the last day or 2 of the season.

Tick-tock Tick-tock
What is the cutoff time for your last effective move you can make? Is it 11:59 the night before, or is it 5 minutes before game time?
You better have answers for all of these questions and you better have them by the correct time. Are you going to hold your ground or do you got the coconuts to do what you know you have to deep inside your gut.
I go out swinging every single year.
Unless I've already clinched the division.
