Fantasy is the gift of seeing invisible things.
Jonathan Swift
Jonathan Swift was an Irish satirist and writer of the early Enlightenment. Since his father died before his birth, he spent his first five years with a nanny in England, while his mother stayed in Ireland for the time being. After his return to Dublin he was finally raised by relatives. At the request of his uncle, he enrolled as a theology student at Dublin University in 1682. Because of his rebellious nature, he allegedly only received his degree "for the sake of mercy".
There is almost nothing left of Swift's early writing attempts. In 1762 he published his novel "The travels into several remote nations of the world by Lemuel Gulliver".
In his honour a large crater on the moon Deimos was named after him.

Jonathan Swift
1762 veröffentlichte er seinen Roman „The travels into several remote nations of the world by Lemuel Gulliver“ (Gullivers Reisen).
