For all my PPR players, I have compiled a list of the top 15 leaders in targets last year.
2017 Target Leaders:
- Deandre Hopkins (174)
- Antonio Brown (162)
- Larry Fitzgerald (161)
- Jarvis Landry (161)
- Keenan Allen (159)
- Michael Thomas (149)
- Julio Jones (148)
- Adam Thielen (143)
- AJ Green (143)
- Demaryius Thomas (140)
- Mike Evans (136)
- Dez Bryant (132)
- Travis Kelce (122)
- Alshon Jeffry (120)
- Golden Tate (120)
When looking at the year to year outlooks for receivers (both WRs and TEs), one of the most important factors I look at is how many targets they see--- both on a weekly basis and year long basis. It's the stat that best shows you how involved a player is in his respective offense, as well as the rapport and trust a QB has in his receiver
The biggest flaw to this stat is that some targets are just throwaways by the QB and/or non catch-able passes that fly out of bounds. However this is still the stat that best reflects how involved a receiver is in his respective offense.
This is great for my ppr leagues.
