I was hopeful that the recent storm activity would help inspire the birth of more calves, and was a little disappointed to see all five of the east herd standing together in the corner of their lot.
But upon seeing us, Helena broke away from the group and made a beeline for the top of the hill. I had to come back to the house to get my camera (with the biggest zoom lens I have).
He's a large, healthy bull, and nursing well under the extremely protective eye of his mother (who's back to hating everyone, with hats or otherwise).
Awe, he's a cutie. :D
I'd let hubby handle getting him away from mom when the time comes though if it were me(...especially given how she felt about you compared to how she felt about him...)he'd have a better chance of success.
Yeah well just remember Candy is your cow when the time comes to separate she like you better.
Oh crud, I never thought of that. LOL. :D
As a mother, I don't know if I can separate a mom from her baby... I'm willing to give it a shot though. :D
