in #farms6 years ago

The vegetable that I want to talk about is the cauliflower, a delicious delicacy in fresh and cooked salads, you can cook it to make soups, stir-fries, desserts, creams and much more. The scientific name of the cauliflower is Brassica oleracea, being these families of the cabbages but its difference is that it has a head on top of a small form of flora. In addition the cauliflower its cultivation is known by the white color, nevertheless they are some of green color, orange and purple. It is also important to note that this type of cabbage is very difficult to grow, since it is very delicate with the temperature, the climate, the right place and its irrigation the nutrients that it must have, we will see the process of how to do it.

COLIFLOR AND SOWING PROCESS

This plant is seen as a vegetable plus they are from cold and temperate climates, however they can not withstand the cold weather such as frost and heat, but despite this the cauliflower crops are able to adapt to spring or summer.
Also this plant must be planted in the right places where it has exposure to the direct sunlight it needs direct lighting, also the soil must be well fertilized with organic matter having a pH of 6.5 to 7 and availability of nitrogen, in addition the soil must be fertile and with perfect drainage.
This advice is important that soil where you plant the cauliflower to have boron to develop, if you do not have it then we must add fertilizer with micronutrients, so it is a solution for spraying the leaves with boric acid, and this It is made with 2 grams of boric acid every 5 liters of water. And it must be done since it is very necessary for the plant, but not in excess it will harm it. And how does this happen? because boron deficiency is when they are sandy soil, alkaline has a lot of nitrogen and calcium in the earth, also little organic matter, cold or dry temperatures.
When irrigation must be constant always keeping the soil moist but without causing puddles. but remember that the cauliflower is very delicate so you can not miss water.
At the time of planting first we do it in a nursery or pot, we place the seeds 1 cm deep and let it germinate until the transplant, or you can also do it directly where you want it, we clean well the weeds and we arrange the earth and we sow the seeds, usually take a week or two to germinate.

When we sow the cauliflower it all depends on when you plant it, for example, the distances of them must be 60 to 90 cm, but if we are going to sow it in summer, it changes a reduced distance of 45 to 60 cm, when the crop is in Winter should have a separation of 50 to 75 cm and when they are mini-cauliflower cultures to be a reduced distance of 15 to 40 cm.
Advice to follow is that you do not sow the califlor where there were plants that you forgot to remove because they stole the nutrinetes and resources to your plant.
When we talk about its harvest, the cauliflower begins to be seen after 60 or 280 days after being planted but this can vary depending on the crop, if it is firm and compact it can be harvested. Important when the outbreaks of caezas begin to separate is because its time of harvest, so it will get a cauliflower of lower quality.
