Greetings friends of steemit, welcome to my Blog.
Every day I will publish a fruit, vegetable or vegetable, highlighting its properties and benefits for health and beauty. In this way we will know more about the natural benefits that we can count on daily if we know more about the fruits, vegetables that we consume or that we see in the market and that we have not yet tested. In today's delivery I will talk about ...
These fruits are produced by the fig tree, whose original name is Ficus Carica L., and already in antiquity, were known, appreciated and considered sacred: they are, in fact, linked to the origins of Rome.
The figs are very sugary, but not excessively caloric, they are perfect for all those who want a sweet but light fruit, low in fat but rich in fiber and mineral salts. Because the sugars contained in the fig are completely natural, it is a perfect snack for those who are on a diet and need a little more energy, immediately dispensable.
Digestive properties:
Figs contain, enzymes that can help the assimilation of foods and substances such as calcium, iron, potassium, manganese and vitamins, including vitamin A, B1, B2, B6, and vitamin C. Figs contain prebiotics, that is, those substances that feed on the good bacteria that normally live in our intestines. When the bacterial flora is balanced, it benefits not only our digestion but our entire body.
Anti-inflammatory properties:
On the other hand, these precious fruits have excellent anti-inflammatory properties. They can be used as compresses in abscesses, swellings and boils. They are very useful in case of pulmonary and urinary inflammation.
Laxative properties:
They have laxative properties due to the seeds, mucilage and sugars contained within them, which are useful in cases of constipation, which favors evacuation and bowel regularity. Figs are very rich in fiber, so they are recommended for those who suffer from constipation or intestinal problems, they are really very effective, especially on an empty stomach.
Protects bones:
Figs are rich in calcium and other minerals, so regular consumption, combined with a healthy diet and a little physical activity, ensures good bone health, as well as that of the teeth.
Antitumor:
Figs are rich in polyphenols, natural antioxidants, which help keep our body cells young and help prevent different types of tumors, including those of the breast, colon and prostate. Of course, always if it is associated with a generally balanced diet and healthy lifestyles.
Prevents hypertension:
Diets high in sodium can lead to hypertension, on the other hand, foods that combine potassium, calcium and magnesium together and that are poor in sodium can help prevent high blood pressure. Among these are the figs.
Help the immune system:
Because figs are full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, they help the immune system to perform its functions and, therefore, to better protect our body from external agents.
Blood sugar control:
Although they are sugary, the presence of minerals in figs, such as potassium and magnesium helps keep blood sugar under control. But they would be, in particular, the leaves of these fruits that, according to a study, could control the high level of sugar in the blood after meals.
Excellent in pregnancy:
Figs, even dry, are an excellent snack during the nine months of pregnancy, when the body's need for vitamins and minerals increases. In particular, the presence of calcium in these fruits helps to reach the fetus' daily need to properly develop the spine and bones.
Slimming:
Figs are also indicated for those who want to lose weight, for those who follow a diet or simply want to keep fit: they contain 74 calories per 100 grams of product. The same argument does not apply to dried figs, which can reach 227 calories. In addition, these fruits have a discreet satiating power.
Protects the skin:
Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, consuming them and applying them directly on the skin can help solve problems such as acne. The laxative effect of these fruits, among other things, can help the body get rid of accumulated toxins, a possible reason for the appearance of acne and other skin problems.
These delicious fruits, particularly sweet on the palate, are rich in nutritional properties and can be eaten both fresh, when it is the season, and dry during the rest of the year.
If you choose in the dry version, however, you must take into account that they are more caloric, having eliminated the water, in fact it makes the nutrients (and therefore also the calories) present in the figs more concentrated.
Also with this fruit they make rich sweets and jams.
I hope you like this initiative ... you can make suggestions and propose fruits and vegetables for the next delivery.
