Hello friends of the farm today I am going to talk about the benefit of planting medicinal plants in our garden. Many of the plants that we know may have medicinal properties, the properties that the plants have are generated by the large amount of chemical components they contain. Medicinal plants are not isolated from us, knowing how to use them correctly can reach a harmony both for our body and the ecosystem in which they grow.
These plants work generating an interaction with the soil, plants and insects, thus allowing a balance.
WHY TO PLANT MEDICINAL PLANTS AT HOME
They are a living source of aromas and flavors, and a natural pharmacy.
Most are small and require little space for cultivation.
A large number of them are perennial, biennial or are grown as perennials.
Large resources are not needed, especially if they are organically grown organically.
They are ornamental, they offer fragrances, colors, different shapes that brighten the habitat and have multiple uses.
They are magnificent companion plants of other crops and some exercise biological control of pests and repel insect.
CULTIVATION AND FERTILIZATION OF MEDICINAL PLANTS
They need little fertilizer, so they do not lose the aroma and flavor. Fertilizing the soil once a year is enough. If they are fertilized in winter, it is convenient to use organic fertilizer and if you use mineral fertilizer you can do it in autumn or spring.
In pots, it renews the surface of the earth, every so often and it is favorable to clean the earth of bad weeds.
For the orchards it is convenient to till the soil minimum 2 times a year, to aerate it. It is very propitious to place the crop mulching or mulching: pine bark, straw, black plate, etc. This serves to maintain humidity and provide some humus.
IRRIGATION OF MEDICINAL PLANTS
Most are native to Mediterranean climates and need little water to live, except mint and parsley that need more moisture. If you cultivate them in a pot, place ceramic pieces in the bottom of the container to achieve greater drainage.
It is recommended to water them in the first hours of the morning. They are plants that depend a lot on the climatic conditions, for that reason for its irrigation the observation of the conditions of humidity of the earth is very important.
THESE ARE SOME OF THE MEDICINAL PLANTS THAT GENERATE BENEFITS TO OUR HEALTH:

In our garden it helps us to repel some insects that could cause damage like aphids that can affect plants and seeds. In addition to these uses, the epazote is used as a condiment for many traditional stews and appetizers (esquites, sauces, etc.) since it has a pleasant flavor and aroma.
THE THYME

The marjoram is used mainly as a digestive remedy as it helps in stomach pain, gastritis, heartburn and spasms. In our garden the marjoram helps us to repel some insects by the natural essence of the plant, because for some insects it is not pleasant and we can also use it to make biopreparations that help us to diminish the presence of some plague present in our garden. And if that were not enough, it is also widely used as a condiment for meats, stews and soups for its pleasant flavor and aroma.

It is an annual plant that grows around 60 cm in height. The cempasúchil is used for stomach and respiratory discomforts such as colds, flu, bronchitis, coldness, stomach pain, discomfort, colic and diarrhea. In the garden it fulfills two very important functions. The first is that the amount of natural essences contained in the plant helps to prevent and reduce some nematodes that are in the soil and cause damage to the development of other plants and the second is that it serves as attractive of pollinating insects that will favor the production of our garden. But the main use of this plant is to decorate the celebration of the Day of the Dead that is done in the country, because it is the representative plant of this celebration.
CONCLUSION
That is why it is important to keep medicinal and aromatic plants in our garden, as they will help us to protect and keep it healthy, avoiding the use of products that can cause damage to our environment and health. It is better to prevent and heal with plants.
