Interesting right? The Chinese knew the benefits of low carb for satiety back when Taoism was catching wind, yet the west still is divided on its health benefits. Maybe this is part of the problem - the mysticism gets out of hand that everything is outright dismissed rather than giving everything an honest look. Not too surprising, generalizing is a common misleading heuristic we do to save time and energy.

I do think there is a lot of insight to be had from eastern philosophy and history, but you have to still be reasonable and exercise the scientific method. I believe we're sophisticated enough at this point that eating chi or the sun can be deduced as nonsensical.
