Hi fellow humans :D
The following isn't a story, but a poem of sorts... In ways they are almost the same thing! Hope you enjoy this one :
He hurts me sometimes and He gives me hope
He acts like he doesn't know me at times and He makes me wonder if he even cares
However when it matters most, he stands for me, like it is his sworn duty; reaching out with the helping hand I need
He is chilled out most of the times and values time the most
He can be such "fuzz" at times, but no one apart from me has the right to talk against him
As gay as I sound for him, I have never in my life argued more with anyone else
He challenges me in every path of mine and makes me re-assess myself more often than not
No matter what the fuck we put ourselves through, I love him and I know that he loves me too.
He grew up just like I did I feel, but with much more to do
A dreamer he is, for he always saw much more than he had
I look up to his generosity, his kindness, and his morals
Also his most impeccable ability to forgive
He sets out on a path to fix things for everyone
Before he starts fixing his own
No matter how much he does
Seldom appreciated, yet criticized at times
He sacrifices his living
For the needs of the ones he loves
In return, love is all he expects
Guess that’s not too much to ask for
A respect for himself
He will build and earn
Without having to demand respect
He will get the most of what he deserves
It’s a compelling nature he adapts to
A result of the ties he makes
To suit and complete his role
Where it‘s hard to be soft and it’s tough to be tender
He showed me also, that it is not just about the muscles
Or the brutal strength you may possess
Being a Man is much more
To care, to love, to be loved and to take care
We all have someone to look up to
We look for the same and seek it in the world.
But this entity is always around us
And the lack of acknowledgement blinds us
Good or Bad
I am creating myself in every walk
You will contribute a lot more to this than you think
For you have made me who I am
To be a Man like you is tough to be
I try sometimes being, learning from what I see
I may not be the best son in the world or the one you’d want me to be
However, there will never be a better Dad than you to me
The role model I look up to and all I’d want to see
The hero he is, kind of like Batman
Taking all the heat and still doing the right thing... Always
For the lack of a better word, to call him “Paa” is what I choose.
Yes, I love my Dad
A few of the million things that he has opened my eyes to :
"Respect is to be earned, not to be asked for...
It is more important to be a person than to be a personality...
Sometimes for the people we love, we do things which are agaisnt ourselves. Because no matter what, you still want the best for them... "
A father is the one who truly deserves an Oscar
For he will act cool even after he's dealt with the most shitty day of his life
