Life as a Dad

in #fatherhood8 years ago

Being a father is by far the greatest experience i have ever had. It also one of the most challenging. I was once the kind of guy who swore up and down that i would never have children. I didnt want the burden. I didnt want to spend my money on anyone but me. I was a selfish bastard. Then one day that all changed. My beautiful baby girl was born. I held her in my arms for the first time and looked into her gorgeous little eyes. A life so full of potential. I melted. I was suddenly transformed.

I think there is sterotype in America of the lazy hands off dad. The kind of guy who calls watching his child babysitting. I wanted to be the complete opposite of that...and i believe that I am.

I cherish every moment with my daughter. I cherish changing a diaper as odd as that may sound. I do this because i know one day she will be grown and all i will be left with of her childhood is the memories.

My daughter has made me the best me that i can be. To all the fathers out there...
