Life in the Natural State

I live in Fayetteville Arkansas. It was voted as among the top ten best college towns to live in the United States. Its also top ten in places to live in the United States. Fun fact: The Fayetteville public Library has the distinguished honor of being the best library in the US in 2005. There is a vibrant art scene with Theater Squared and the Walton Arts Theater only a stone throw from each other. To make it a walkable city there are miles and miles of trails to bike and cool parks to enjoy on a warm summers day. Head on over to Dickson street where one  comes to sip coffee, sample craft beers and dig into barbecue  or just enjoy the many music festivals.

But the jewel of the city is undeniably the University of Arkansas. Founded in 1871 as part of the Morill land grant Act of 1862 (shout out to Abe Lincoln who till today still influences a large segment of the American public)  . Its primarily a research based university. (its in the 3rd percentile among research institutions in the United States). Its most famous building is Old Main, a two-towered brick building designed in the Second Empire style completed in 1875 and was the primary instructional and administrative building . The mascot is the Razorback, a type of wild hog. We call ourselves the Hogs. GO HOGS!! We participate in the South Eastern Conference SEC Division 1 of the NCAA. (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Another fun fact: The college's athletics program is the most successful program in NCAA history. Breakout stars from this program include: Mike Conley, Graham Wood, Alistair Cregg. Seriously if you want to be a famous athlete in future join the University of Arkansas.

So if you desire a place that has lots of green places, artistic expressions, natural beauty and craft beer then come on over to Fayetteville. There is that southern comfort with a hip urban lifestyle. Its pretty cool actually.
