There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
—1 John 4:18
The Bible teaches that in the end times we are living, the hearts of many will be filled with fear. Fear is one of the most dangerous weapons that the enemy uses against humanity. Today we will learn to be free from that evil spirit.
WHAT IS FEAR?
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. —2 Timothy 1:7
As we see, fear is an evil spirit. It is not an emotion as many people think, but a demon that works in groups, along with other spirits such as shame, shyness and cowardice.
WHERE DID FEAR ORIGINATE?
So, he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” —Genesis 3:10
Before answering that question, we must differentiate between natural fear, which distances us from any danger; and diabolic fear, which distances us from God’s presence and stops us from doing the things God commands us to do.
When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they opened the door for the spirit of fear to enter and rule their lives. Since then, in one way or another, we have all been attacked by that spirit, which separates us from the Father and prevents us from seeing His face.
WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF FEAR?
Men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
—Luke 21:26
Physical punishment: causes illness, insomnia, loss of appetite, weakness and death.
Spiritual punishment: brings oppression, nightmares, spiritual coldness, apathy in seeking God’s presence, and spiritual stagnation.
Blocks the flow of the supernatural. Fear is a barrier that does not allow God’s supernatural power (healings, miracles and deliverances) to reach a person’s life.
Fear paralyzes faith. You cannot fear and have faith at the same time. When fear comes in, faith comes out. “And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, ‘It is a ghost!’ And they cried out for fear” (Matthew 14:26).
● Fear makes all kinds of torments come into your life.
For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.
—Job 3:25
Everything people fear, that is what they attract. So, if you’re afraid of accidents, you will attract accidents; if you’re afraid of your children becoming lost, you will also attract that. Trust in the Lord and He will keep them; even when you don’t get to see or watch over them, God will protect them.
WHAT IS PERFECT LOVE?
Perfect love is the love of God, which is unconditional, supernatural, eternal, unlimited, and always above and beyond human comprehension.
ere is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear... —1 John 4:18
ere is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear... —1 John 4:18
The enemy of love is fear. Where there is fear, there is no love of God. But where God’s love is, there God manifests His power.
HOW DO WE RECEIVE THE LOVE OF GOD?
Many have heard of others speak about the love of God in theory only, but have never actually experienced it themselves. To receive it, you just have to open your heart and talk to Him confidently.
HOW TO BE FREE FROM FEAR
Repent before God for having opened the doors to fear.
Renounce all spirit of fear and throw it out of your life.
