Feathered Angels In South Africa
Time and tide may change, birds are forever angels in feathers swooping over. Daily we look up hoping to see the larger birds, this week I am sharing smaller birds I have seen over the past couple of years.
Sometimes we just do no get the photography we are looking for, delving into earlier photo's taken with the Canon PowerShot ~ SX160 IS, f/5.9 1/160 sec ISO-100
We will start with a common resident on the east coast of South Africa, the Dark-capped bulbul, love his yellow little bottom. Bulbul find the highest perch at the end of day and sing in the most delightful loud calling.
Photograph taken in the Oribi Gorge region southern KwaZulu-Natal, African stonechat is little bird I had never seen previously flitting in the grass land. Canon PowerShot SX160 IS, f/5.9 1/125 sec ISO-100
White Pekin Duck in a pond in Port Edward, the southern region of KwaZulu-Natal. Not resident to South Africa obviously brought in for farming, escape to the wild and enjoy life a pretty little duck. Canon PowerShot SX160 IS, f/4.5 1/50 sec ISO-200
White-browed scrub robin sat quietly hoping we would go away, perhaps it thought it was well camouflaged on the forest floor, taken in Eden Igwalagwala forest trail walk St Lucia, north coast KwaZulu-Natal. Canon EOS 500D, f/5.6, 1/50 sec, ISO-1600
Red-capped Robin chat taken at a distance sitting watching it quietly appear early one morning at St Lucia using Canon PowerShot SX160 IS, f/5.9, 1/25 sec, ISO-400
Collared sunbird in St Lucia enjoying a sip of nectar, one of the 21 species seen in South Africa, birds are aplenty always something new around the next corner birding is a great hobby whenever outside. Taken with Canon EOS 500D, f/7.1, 1/400 sec, ISO-100
Thanks to @keithboone accepting #featheredfriday sharing bird photography and great tips to amateur photographers.

You sure have some beautiful birds in your area, great shots :)
Humans wish we had wings, enabling us to move freely, birds grace our skies with us jealously watching...
Ohh yes wouldnt it be brilliant to be able to just fly and see the views from any angle you wish
Nice choice of words @joanstewart 😊 The photos are adorable!
Appreciate your visit @starjewel Birds of a feather flock together, humans are very similar.
Lovely shots here Lady Joan and the small ones are certainly more beautiful than the big ones. More colours! Blessings!

Excellent photos, that first one in particular is lovely! Thank you for posting in Feathered Friday. Voted and resteemed :-)
Finding photo's of birds of which I have plenty @keithboone
Visited the beach last weekend, totally different to the week prior where every nook and cranny had birds, this last walk the beach was literally empty. It really is on the day!
Yes, I find the same thing happens. There are places I go where I can usually find a lot of birds, but then some days there are none.
Wow, birds are awesome! I want to draw it)))
Let me know if you do an artists impression on bird life @amalinavia I always support people who are able to draw.

Likewise, I enjoy seeing birds and wildlife we never see @melinda010100
Great shots @joanstewart. Good to know we share the same passion for our feathered friends. Will share my own collection soon.
Look forward to seeing your superb photography @abbiephoto
What a lovely variety of birds you have displayed here. Your Robin looks so bright and colourful I think so much more so than the Robins we get here!

Little Robins in the woodlands are always delightful to see, Robin's in the north have great contrast in colours @thistle-rock

Very nice, sharing the variety around you! I like the Stonechat name. It is a good name.
