Here come a bunch of brand new photos - I'm putting the birds first for @melinda010100's Feathered Friday challenge. Melinda says she is happy to see bird photos any day of the week, not just on Friday, so I'm getting in early to avoid the rush!
Above: Female Mallard duck. I always try to get low for these shots. Lower than this would be much better but my knees didn't want to cooperate.
Canada Goose in the park. Again I was trying to get low. You want to get down and make eye-contact with the bird. I think the angle of this shot is better than the first one.
A Glaucous-winged gull on a log near the beach.
A Cormorant basking in the sun.
A pair of mule deer shot through the car window on the way to photograph birds... (Cathy was driving!)
A Sea Otter came up for a breath and took a look around...
...then disappeared beneath the waves with a flick of its tail.
Here's a wider view of Oak Bay where I photographed the seagull, cormorant, and sea otter. I hope you enjoyed this little photo essay. All photos were taken by me, @keithboone. Please click for a closer view and thanks for visiting!

Thank you, @esteemapp!
Those are all beautiful photos! Of course, I especially like the birds, but I love the shot of the sea otters tail!
Thanks very much, Melinda! I liked the water coming off the otter's tail, that was a lucky shot :-)
Great shots, Keith! The otter looks to be huge by the tail.
Thanks! I think he was a big one, but pretty far away so it's hard to see a lot of detail. One of these guys came about a half kilometre from the ocean to a little freshwater pond in the park and wiped out all the fish in a matter of a few days.
Great shots, Keith. !tip

Sending tips with @tipU - how to guide :)
Those are great shots! I agree that when taking pictures of animals, you get better results if you can get at their eye-level. The second picture has a much better angle than the first, but the first is still a very good picture. Great work!
Awesome photos @keithboone Sometimes you've just gotta get down low to get the best angle don't you? Getting back up is the tricky part. But that's just what dedicated photographers do.
It's not every day I see an otter. Cool shots. And great timing. ( U & R )
Thanks for sharing birds in your region, only one we have in common is the Cormorant, as for Deer and Otter definitely not where I live.
Yes capturing at eye level is tiresome on the knees....
Oh wow. What lovely photos!
How can you not love all of these little creatures of the world <3
