I was a reader, as an adolescent, and remember the moment I realized all the heroes I identified with were men. It was a devastating awakening. The ambition, adventure and courage I related to, wasn't meant for me. There was a disconnect between the way I saw myself and the way I was expected to be. I'm going to think long and hard. So many movies I love have strong female characters, but not female leads--The Blues Brothers, for example, is about "the Brothers" but you can't top Aretha Franklin, Carrie Fisher or "The Penguin" for courage, individuality and assertiveness. This is a great contest.

“So many movies I love have strong female characters, but not female leads.” The truth in this statement is too real. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to write on/feature! <3
