Some time ago I promised myself to take a couple of 'panoramic' photos inside the church of San Girolamo located in Via Savonarola in Ferrara, but every time I passed it I always found it closed. It is true that for a long time it was closed due to the 2012 earthquake, but a few days ago, early in the morning, I finally found the door open and I immediately sneaked inside to immediately take some photos. I have not done many, to tell the truth, given the strong orange light of dawn that came in from the windows. However, I plan to go back and take more 'details' photos ... happy? :)

The church of San Girolamo was built starting in 1703 by the friars of the order of the Discalced Carmelites, to replace the ancient Oratory, which dates back to 1378, which was located in the nearby Via Madama named after the same saint. The interior is typically eighteenth-century and I remember that it houses the remains of Blessed Giovanni Tavelli da Tossignano protected by a glass plate. A very important historical figure for our city because in 1443 he founded the Sant'Anna archispedale, which has since become the most important hospital in our province.
In the next episode (I've always liked to say it) more detailed photos of the interior of the church that contains real artistic treasures ... promise! ;)
