RE: Too Many Questions? Asking For A Friend: Food Fight Friday

in #fff6 years ago

Hey, @puravidaville.

I don't know what happened to me, but I obviously missed out on all of this last week, including the shout out! Was I in a food coma? Sugar crash? Lightning storm? Caught between the burly guys at that store? I don't know. :)

Anyway, I'm still going to just say here, you bring up great points, and the more I go along, the more it seems that fewer and fewer people seem to have the answer, and the more complicated things get, the worse it all becomes. Which, I suppose, means we do whatever we can not get into the situation in the first place, and hope that genetics doesn't let us down in the process.

I'm not sure I would be relying on an acupuncturist for my nutritional needs, nor the crystals, but to each their own. :)

I hope your friend finds the answers they need. :)

What about a colonics administerer? It’s just crazy to me how many people think they have the answers and yet all of them are differing from each other. We really are the captain of our own ship so best to take control of our own health by being mindful of what we out in our bodies. Thanks for making it over @glenalbrethsen. ::clears throat:: where’s your triple F this week sir?

Hey, @puravidaville.

Oh, the post finally went up about an hour ago. It's a classic case of the more I try to get ahead some weeks, the farther I fall behind.

re: captain

Very true, which is fine, but it means a lot of time experimenting around until you figure it out for yourself. I'm not expecting a one size fits all cure, but it would be nice after the fourth or fifth consultation, after the others clearly didn't work, that somewhere along the line, at least a sniff of where the trail is would occur.

Some of us do have more messed up systems then others, where it's just going to be hard, but for the rest of us, it shouldn't be so tough. You eat well, your body responds in kind, end of story.

I met to tell you in my first comment that congratulations for the nice and hefty OCD/blocktrades curation upvotes. I don't think I've seen any that high in a long while, let alone for foodfightfriday. That's definitely the record now. Way to go!

Hey, thanks for noticing @glenalbrethsen. It’s always a good time when blocktrades and ocd stop by.

Sure, eat well and body acts well but what is eating well? There is literally sugar added to every frikken thing. If there’s not sugar then there’s gmos or pesticides or fluoridated water, metallic molecules in your deodorant, the list is endless. I cook most of our meal from scratch but it’s quite times consuming and can be expensive. Not everyone has the luxury of time or the ability to buy a head of organic broccoli over a happy meal. I’m just sayin when a bottle of water cost double what a bottle of coke costs then we have a problem.

By the way I saw your post… way to pull it all together Glen. Salisbury steak is a childhood memory for me too. P

Oh, I get it. Sugar is everywhere, but eventually a lot of things we eat, carbs, fruits, break down into sugars. So, if you're essentially talking refined sugar, it's definitely hard to get away from, but definitely not the only thing to be concerned with.

So, as far as prices go, are you saying it's not an issue of supply and demand? I would imagine there's many times more people reaching for the happy meal rather than the broccoli, simply out of convenience and taste—and, unfortunately, fast food prices aren't what they used to be either. Can't hardly eat much for under $10 anymore.

But I get what you're saying. Healthy food should be cheaper and easier to acquire, whatever 'healthy' ends up being defined as.

I think healthy food also costs more to get to your table than say a mass produced burger from from McDonald’s. I think it’s a shame that not everybody has the ability to eat processed free.

Yes sugar is in everything and carbs plus fruits break down into sugar indeed. The fruits are at least natural sugars but flours and such are pretty processed. I went on a Veggies and fish diet for 6 months and saw so much improvement in various areas but it just wasn’t sustainable for me. The carbs are an important part of energy fuel and it feels good to be back with them. Now if I can only stay away from those vegan Oreos. Dang it. Did you know Oreos are vegan? 😋. I didn’t until several months ago and now we always have them in the fridge. It’s been our kryptonite 🤦🏼‍♀️
