Gallon of Coconut Oil
Hey I know a good deal when I see one...at least I think I do anyway??? Like at Costco you can get a 5 gallon jug of Mayonnaise for the price of a quart. Who doesn’t need a 5 gallon bucket of mayonnaise??? Ummm...ya...so... Well that is a bit of an exaggeration but hey Go Big or Go Home right?!?
When I was at Andy’s market a couple weeks ago I finally gave into the temptation. You have no idea how many time I walked by this product and thought... “Dang, that is a good deal!” So I picked this bucket up and plopped it on the cash register conveyor belt.
1 Gallon of Coconut Oil
At $39 for Orgainic, Unrefined, Non-GMO cold Pressed...blah blah blah Coconut oil this was a good buy.
We use it and we use it A LOT, On everything I swear!! Sometimes I just eat a scoop of it when I am applying a thin coating to our taco shells. A little for the shells and a lot for me....
Making waffles on the Double Belgium Waffle maker??? Coconut oil works great to keep those waffles from sticking. Plus it adds a little extra sweet crispiness to the outside.
Then instead of butter use coconut oil as a nice base to blend nicely with the Maple Syrup you bathe those waffles in. Granted it’s not homemade Maple Syrup like @thebigsweed makes but it will just have to do around here.
Hey @dandays, your in a sunny place, how about this....coconut oil works pretty good for blocking those nasty rays that big shiny ball puts off. I’m pretty sure you knew that but I just wanted to mention you in this post. Lol. It has an SPF of about 4 and it is all I use while I am working in the sun all day. I keep a little container in my lunch box and apply it a few times throughout the day on my neck, face and ears, while the rest of me is covered up by Flame-Resistant Clothing. Most would think, Oil = Burn or Cook but coconut oil doesn’t do that. That is all we put on the kids during the summer time and have yet to get a sunburn. You have to put it on more frequently but my word ,have you read the labels on sunscreen??? I mean what is that crap??? I had an aerosol sunscreen get sprayed all over my bathroom by some wild unsupervised kid. It took the paint off of the trim I installed around the mirror over the sink. Ummmm....ya..sorry got a little off the subject there.
Ok, back to the Gallon of Coconut oil, I swear we use it for about dang near everything. Throw a blob in the pan when frying up some fresh duck eggs or after a long day at work have your daughter can massage your feet with it....
That was a total joke, I would never put my daughter through such torture...actually Mama-Splatts says I have soft feet :wink:wink So it wouldn’t be too bad after I gave them a good scrub to knock the Funk off of them. I on the other hand do use it to massage Mama-Splatts’ feet and yeah, she likes it. ..speaking of hands....
When you have those rough callused working hands like mine, coconut oil works wonders to soften them up. Not too much though, I don’t want Mama-Splatts getting too used to soft sissy hands. Hold up, Wait a minute...Everytime I massage her feet I’m working the coconut oil into my hands too. ..it’s like a 2 for 1 deal.
Ever get it when the inside of your nose gets all dried out??? Or the bottom of your know gets raw from wiping it during the winter months from your running nose. Just take a q-tip with some coconut oil on the end and shove it in your nose and smear it around. Hey, No Double Dippin’!!! That is nasty, there are 2 ends of a q-tip for a reason. Lol
Now that is why I Go Big or Go Home when it comes to coconut oil. I’m sure there are many other uses for coconut oil but I just wanted to share some of the things we use it for.
Honestly I had no idea what I was going to do for Food Fight Friday, then I opened the pantry and there it was....sitting on the shelf in all its Glory...the answer to my Food Fight Friday woes....
Ahh!! The trail got you before I got you! Sorry about that.
I never considered coconut oil for sunblock, I didn’t know that. According to that literature it’s actually stellar at 45 spf. Good lookin out Splatts! “Guilty,” I live where it’s sunny except when it’s night time. 😉
If momma Splatts says they’re soft, then they’re soft and all that means is you know how to buy work boots, I really like the way you’re adding personalized gif’s to your contenders, I should probably stop now but I can’t help it... I saw a #funny.
Now imagine Autocorrect put an S in there and made ‘ball’ plural........
I figured
smellalottafartavilleoops @puravidaville had you Peeps all dialed in on the coconut action. I really think it attributes to me looking like I am 20...well ok 25...alright alright 27 dang!!Gif maker for free. Just take a less than 10 second video and bam!!! Maybe add a text if you like. I love me some GIFS

This but is great! I use coconut oil for everything too. Had no idea you could use it as a sunclscreen- pretty rad. In the morning I put a spoonful in my mouth and swish it around for 15-20 minutes. It’s called oil pulling and there are several benefits to doing that. Next time I’m in the market for coconut oil I’ll be sure to keep my eye out for the economy bucket. Happy food fight Splatts!
I totally forgot about oil pulling. It has some awesome benefits!!! Thanks for the reminder poopavidaville. Oh rock!!
