Pidie Jaya. Lancang Paru Village, Bandar Baru Subdistrict, Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh Province, directly faces the Malacca Strait and one of the worst affected villages was hit by the tsunami of late 2004. Moreover, on December 7 2016, the village was also one of the villages affected by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 at a depth of 15 km.

Based on this, the Center for the Study and Protection of Children (PKPA) assessed the importance of Lancang Paru's community preparedness for disaster threats. In collaboration with Mercy Relief, PKPA then initiated the provision of training to the community about finding disaster victims.

"The training will provide knowledge about disaster problems to the community. People will be more alert to the threat of disasters at any time," said Ismail Marzuki as program manager on Wednesday (10/17) afternoon.
