He is alone.
Really alone.
The world has ended, and he's the only one left.
There is only a wooden hut with 1 table and chairs, and a wide stretch of grass that is endless.
"Why is there only me in this world?"
That is the biggest question in him.
Some time ago, the world was shaken by a very strong earthquake. The ground cracked to the bottom, seawater spilled onto land, and entire volcanoes erupted to cover the world with ash. The disaster had swallowed up entire countries, cities and villages, and the girl survived after being trapped in ice for several years.
The girl woke up when the world had regenerated. At that time, the sky turned blue again, the land returned to produce various plants, and the sea water reunited into a vast ocean.
The girl walked through the endless meadow for miles away from where she had awakened. And he found it, a cozy little wooden hut.
No one knows why the cabin was there.
Days after, the girl began to collect clay. Carefully, he formed the puppet of a small boy. Over and over, the girl repeated several parts of the doll to make it a perfect doll.
Day and night he continued to work, so that finally formed a doll of boys from clay whose height was only there.
Satisfied, the girl hugged her doll like a large clay statue.
"Please, be alive," the girl whispered earnestly.
And it really happened.
Gradually, the statue turned into a charming little boy. The first thing the child does is hug the girl who created it.
The girl is so happy.
"How should I call you?" He asked one day.
The boy just looked at the girl without saying anything.
Yes, the child cannot talk. All he did was nod and shake his head. However, the girl could understand whatever the boy meant.
"So you don't know either?"
The boy nodded.
"In that case, I will call you Terra, because you are made of earth."
The boy nodded again, this time accompanied by a sweet smile. The smile turned into a face full of questions as he looked toward the window.
The endless fields are filled with beautiful little lights, floating between the weeds.
"That is the light that comes from the heart of a happy person. The light holds sweet, beautiful, and touching memories from many people in another world. "
Terra stared at the window without blinking.
The girl smiled. "Want to go out tomorrow?"
Excited, Terra nodded.
The next day, the girl invited Terra into the endless fields. At that time, the flowers were blooming. The girl took Terra's hand, walked in the middle of a grove of flowers and grass. The little lights were still flying there. Many.
Terra was attracted by a cluster of white flowers that were almost similar to snow.
Realizing Terra was fixated on something, the girl asked, "what's wrong?"
He pointed to the flower.
"You want to know what the name of the flower is?"
Terra nodded.
The girl plucked a few sprigs of flowers, then joined them with a few blades of grass. "This is Baby's breath. The meaning of this flower is sincere and eternal love, "he explained gently, then gave the bouquet of flowers to Terra.
Terra paused to see the bouquet. Without taking it, the child ran into the flower field, then picked various kinds of flowers, arranged them, and tied them to the grass. Proudly, he held out his bouquet to the girl, then took the bouquet made by the girl.
The girl was a little surprised, but before long she smiled while stroking Terra's head. "Thank you."
Terra studied the bouquet in his hand, then looked around. Padang is truly as endless. So wide that no one knows where the ends are. And he wants to get away from there.
Terra pulled on the girl's white overalls.
"What is wrong?"
Terra pointed at the setting sun.
The girl was silent for a moment. "Do you want to go?"
Terra shook his head. He took her hand, then pointed back toward the sun.
"You want me to go with you?"
This time Terra nodded again.
The girl smiled doubtfully. "Where? This field seems endless. Everywhere you look, there's only grass and flowers. "
Terra kept holding the girl's hand, instead began to pull it slowly.
"Alright then."
Terra and the girl walked down the field. I don't know how long they have been running. They can survive the summer and fall, but in the last moments of autumn, the girl starts to stop often to sleep.
Terra kept trying to pull the girl's hand. Winter is coming soon. The world will be filled with cold white sand.
"Sorry, I'm always exhausted during winter," said the girl.
Terra paused staring at the girl.
"I know. We have to arrive before winter comes. "
With that determination, the girl survived.
Cold wind starts blowing hard. Snow began to fall. The sun is rarely seen.
A few days later, the world was completely filled with snow.
The girl fell more often. Increasingly, his consciousness decreased. Often he fell between soft snow and began to fall asleep.
"... wake up ...!"
The girl opened her eyes, and saw the boy she had created talking to her.
"... please, we must keep going ..." Terra said with a panicked face.
"... in vain ... he can't hear me ..."
"No, I can hear your voice clearly," the girl said softly.
"…How could it be…?"
"Maybe because now your heart is sincere enough to listen to your own voice," the girl answered again. "Hey, you know?"
"…What…?"
"I just dreamed. I went to that world, and learned a lot from there. I have a gentle mother, a pleasant father, and grandparents who love me very much. You know, apparently I really can't leave this world. "
"…Why is that…?" Terra asked in surprise.
Weakly, the girl touched Terra's hand. Half of his body has been covered with snow. "Because I am the embodiment of the memories themselves. The lights that you see are the lights of my life. If I leave this world, I will die. Different from you. I brought you who should be in that world through one of those lights. You should be in that world, a place where you are surrounded by people who love and care about you. I'm sorry, Terra. "
Terra held her hand tightly. "…not! I want to be here ... with you ... don't care that I'm alone here ... I'm fine ... as long as you're by my side ... "
"Terra, it's time for you to go home. Your family is waiting for you. I will always be here, waiting for you to come back to me, someday. "
"... really? ... I'll be back here ...?"
"Yes. Until then, keep the lights so that I am always alive. "
Coinciding with that, a light floated right in front of his nose.
Terra reached for the light, and immediately his view changed. The image of the girl who had nearly been buried in the snow slowly disappeared, bringing her back to her world.
While Terra disappeared, the girl's consciousness continued to diminish.
"See you later, Papa ..."
