Cynthia was one of the prettiest girls in the college where she studied Physiology. She fell in love with Benson who was in the Pharmacy department. She was undoubtedly the prettiest in her department and Benson was seen as the luckiest man on earth to secure such an asset.

One thing that happened in the college then, and still happening now, is that a guy is deemed strict and big when he finds out he is sincerely loved by a girl whom he knows hundreds of guys are seeking for her attention. Cynthia loved Benson but his love for her was overshadowed with pride and this caused Cynthia to be emotionally unstable.

They both finished school and served in different States. Cynthia was still into Benson but he was now exposed to varieties and shapes. He had no problem of choice because the prettiest ladies who had lots of money were the ones who sought after him. Howbeit, Cynthia couldn't continue with the relationship so she met Peter who loved her genuinely but she was skeptical and uncertain about her feelings. She had passed through heartbreaking situations so she wouldn't give in her all in another relationship, except she got married to the man.

It was time to seek for a job. Benson had no problem securing a good job immediately after his service. His "tentacles" had spread all over the thirty six States in Nigeria and abroad and his family had connections stronger than Airtel 3G network. He started working few days after his passing out parade. Benson worked in a medical diagnostic centre as a pharmacist and Cynthia had always wished to work in a diagnostic centre too.

On a Monday, she parcelled her credentials and made her way to the newest diagnostic center in town. She never knew Benson was the chief pharmacist in the centre for they had long broken up though Benson knew it was his fault but power, pride and influence wouldn't let him succumb and make amends in his relationship. Cynthia ran into him and they exchanged pleasantries like adults.

Cynthia had always been too mature in thinking that she had prepared her mind for the good and bad in her relationship but the breakup came in an unfathomable way and being that there was no dialogue and she never knew how to remedy the situation, she conceded in her heart that some relationships were meant to teach lessons and not necessarily lead to marriage.

Benson was happy to see her and at the same time felt guilty of how he treated her in their relationship. They engaged in conversations that exposed their experiences in their service year, likewise their love lives. Cynthia had moved on with Peter and she wouldn't dare hurt him because she was sincerely loved by him but she needed a job. This she told Benson. There was no vacancy in Benson's place of work but he promised to get her a job. He made inquiries from his friends and family members and he secured a job for Cynthia and wrote the recommendation letter for her even when he knew he wouldn't get her back into his life.

Would you recommend your ex for a job or would you hinder him or her simply because he or she couldn't cope with your excesses and negative attitude? Would you let him or her suffer for what you know you caused but try to push blames? I think Benson is a good man😊
