Sounds like you were involved with a narcissist.

They are experts at making you feel loved, right up until the point they have you hooked. Then you find out they were never capable of love.

Watch this and see if you resonate with what is being said.

Also, I have read that a sociopath can have similar characteristics. Interesting and informative video.

Sociopath and Psychopath are both more extreme versions of narcissism.

The definition of Sociopath and Psychopath have become very muddied (by the psychopaths that run our country) and even the DSM has removed them as a diagnosis.
Even in movies and TV, they try to make out psychopaths as crazy seeming people, that you can notice in an instant, when they are anything but. They are the perfect con men. They can tell any lie without any regret or remorse, and have no compunction about using a person and throwing them away.
And, when you first meet them, they will be very charming and charismatic. (usually over charming)

I share Thomas Sheridan's definitions of psychopthy.

I feel you would resonate best with Dana. Here is SpartanLifeCoach interview snippet with Dana

Thank you very much for the information and the videos.
