The Lost Lighthouse and the Sexy Greek

I felt someone grab me by the leg

and pull me under. As I stared at my captor I couldn’t help but laugh. There was Kries, trying his hardest to look like a scary fish. When we resurfaced, we swam back to the beach, laughing the entire way.

“You want to build sand castles together? Like when we were kids?” Kries asked me, while I was drying off.

I smiled and nodded. His ability to be sentimental astounded me. As I lied in the sand buried up to my chest, I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with excitement.

“Babe, you got to lay still.” Kries laughed at me.

He was trying to pack the sand around me but I was so excited I kept shaking and fidgeting; it kept the sand from sticking to me.

“I know, I’m sorry, I’m just so excited,” I said, while bursting out of the sand.

He threw his hands up, exasperated.

“Sorry!” I laughed, realizing I had destroyed his sand art.

He tackled me down and we laughed; shaking sand out of our hair.

“I’m excited too. Morgan told me that you and Genine went shopping for your dress yesterday…” He smirked and raised his eyebrows up and down. I laughed.

“He did, did he?”

“Uh huh.”

He smiled a big toothy grin.

I laughed loving his cute self. We were getting married in three days. I would become Mrs. Clara Hatfield. I looked out at the ocean; it had brought me so much. I remembered when I use to sit by the ocean water everyday drawing out pictures, (mostly of what I wanted my life to be like), thinking my life would be forever boring, and filled with lessons on how to be more like my sister and less like me. I never in a hundred years ever thought I would be marrying Kries, or anyone anything like him.

“What are you thinking about?” he asked, wrapping his arms around me.

I smiled, “How lucky and unexpected it was that I met you and my life went this way.”

“I’m the one that should feel luckys, not only are you, well you, but you, my sweet fiance, banished my enemy to exile on a barren wasteland, ending a multi-century long war. That's all though. That's all you have going for you.”

I smiled.

Remembering how hard that really was, emotionally, though he made it sound easy.

“When Dumitro told you that we were married, your response shattered my heart.”

I looked down, as concern flooded his face.

“I didn’t mean it like that…”

He lifted my face up to look him in the eyes.

“I know that now, but at the time I died for a second."

I looked back down, holding back the tears.

He picked up my face with his hands again, not letting go.

“I am so sorry; I assure you I meant nothings like that. I should have responded to him differently, so as not to confuse your hearts like that.”

“I realized later that what you meant was 'you’re now banished.' I just, at the time, I thought you meant 'hurray, you married my treacherous, betraying fiance, who I no longer care about.' I thought I had lost you for a second.”

He kissed me; a very slow, long, passionate kiss.

“You will never lose me. We are going to be married, and have lots of babies, and sit old in our rocking chairs, on our porch, arguing about little things, just like Alexis and Chloe.”

We both started laughing at the thought

of being like them. I sat down on a log near us. He squatted down in front of me, wondering what I was thinking.

“It sounds perfect. I wonder though. Do you think Dumitro’s slam into my uterus last time, will keep me from having a child in the future?”

I looked into his eyes willing to believe whatever he said. He thought about it before replying, placing his hands on my legs.

“You and I will have babies, one day.”

I kissed him, and sighed before standing up.

“Let’s go see, if Alex is ready?”

“Eager to sail, are we?” Kries asked, standing up.

“Kind of yes, I’ve never been, not like this. Daddy used to go all the time, but I was too little, he wouldn’t let me go, and then when I got old enough to go, mother would not allow it because it was not lady-like. I liked the ship I was on before with Dumitro, to an extent, a very small extent, and so I think it will be great to relax in the sun on the water. Not to mention I know this incredibly sexy man who will be laying on the boat with me, probably shirtless.”

I started laughing

as I smacked his stomach playfully.

“Oh yeah, does he have a greats stomach?”

Kries played along, grinning big.

“Yes, the best…”

I smiled, biting my lip, trying to keep from laughing.

“Yeah, does it look like this?”

He lifted his arms so they glided on his stomach.

“Uhm…”

I pretended to think about it. He grabbed me.

“It better looks like this!”

Laughing we walked our way up the beach to Alex’s.

“You're not marrying me just for my stomach I hope? Because when I’m old it won’t still look like this,” He asked, wrapping his arm around my waist.

“Baby! I’m offended that you think I’m that shallow! I am marrying you, for your butt,” I stated with conviction.

“Well good thing one of us is marrying for the right reasons.”

I laughed, “Yes, me!” I stopped in my tracks, and stared at him completely serious.

“I’m madly in love with you, and I can’t live without you. Those are the best reasons to marry someone. No contest, I already won.”

He smiled and walked the two steps back to me to kiss me.

“I’m marrying you for all of the things about you that you hate, that make you, you. The way you look when you don’t get what you wants, or the way you’ll stay up all night talking to me just because you love the sounds of my voice. I love everything about you, flaws and perfections. As long as you’re on this planet, you will be my wife.”

He kissed me again.

“Alright… maybe you win… if it was a contest, which it’s not.”

He smiled, pulling me into a hug. I leaned my head against his.

“I love you.”

“You two ready to sail?” Alex called out to us.

I hadn’t even realized we had stopped in front of his house.

“Yep, this one’s excited.”

Kries pointed to me. I laughed and shrugged my shoulders, what could I say, he called me out.

“Isn’t Chloe coming?” I asked Alex as we climbed onto the boat.

“Nope, she doesn’t like sailing, she had a bad time of it when she was younger, and I’m afraid she never gots over it. No, it’ll be you, Kries, and me.” He smiled.
