I missed your stories!
That sucked me right in - I'm looking forward to reading more about Tim, though I am now wondering about those woods and what happened with the little outdoorsy boy. But I guess that was the point, huh?
What was it like, returning and redoing an old story?
That's good to hear! Revisiting these old stories is a little like traveling back in time and interacting with a younger version of myself. I went through a phase, starting in 2009, where I was really concentrating on writing short fiction and absolutely fell in love with it. I took a short story workshop taught by former Atlantic magazine editor C. Michael Curtis and he showed me how much fun the genre could be. Then I started listening to the New Yorker Fiction podcast and it opened up a whole new world.
