This world is so cold our equipment fails often. The human is SO not built for this, with skin instead of fur, muscles instead of blubber. True their equipment never fails, but how is it, even with their suit, they never seem to feel the cold? -- Anon Guest

Every cogniscent species puts their home planet into what the Humans know as a "Goldilocks Zone" where everything is "just right" for life. It's almost natural for most cogniscents to go through an egocentric phase. That sort of thing usually ends when they encounter "impossible" cogniscents.

Humans are still having a very rough time with "impossible" cogniscents. Be gentle with them.

Helping "impossible" cogniscents is a little bit difficult for others, but that never stops the Humans. They've made their entire evolution about getting into places where they should not be able to survive.

Human Kor should not have been able to survive on this iceworld. A place where the fluid cycle was more hydrocarbon centric. A place where water ice was another kind of stone. A place where most technology literally froze.

A place where livesuits were also wont to freeze.

Except for the livesuits and tech that Human Kor brought with him. There were never any breakdowns with the Terran tech. They should have been made with Terran tolerances in mind. They should have also broken down and caused trouble for the mission. Yet, they were as indomitable as the Humans themselves.

Companion Mel had to ask. "Why is your tech more effective than everything else thrown at this world?"

"Oh, we did something similar before. On a moon orbiting a gas giant in the Sol system. It's sucks a lot of power for the heaters, but it's worth it."

Humans. They really do get to places where even their mythical angels would fear to tread.
