You got a point there. My reasoning was there's 5+ guys with weapons all trained on him, so they and he know that he wouldn't get very far with pulling a grenade, or something like that. He would've been perforated in a heartbeat if he tried anything, so they kept an eye on him, but wanted to see what he had that'd be worth letting him into town.
But you're probably right, and I'd have deaded him if I'd been on that wall, lmao.
