Werevolves

In Northern Minnesota werewolves were grouped into two groups. In one group were the Northeastern wolves, who occupied the land on the edges between Canada and the United States. These were the family-based, cousin-loving kind of werewolves. In the other group the wolves were stronger, meaner, and less tolerant of others. They were called the Northwestern United States werewolves. They were less hierarchical, less stable, and much more viscous. They saw their pack as a war party. The two groups hated each other and fought constantly. The Northeastern clan was lead by a classic wolf, known as Ketchum Lodge. His son, Ben, was next in command, as his father's second. Ben had a large family, and they gave their undying loyalty to their alpha. They lived at the edge of their territory in a small town, one called Ojibwe.

Ketchum Lodge and his clan were heavily armed, and each had his own arsenal of artillery. This clan was a non-organized, non-hierarchical war machine. Because of this, they were capable of limitless destruction, and ranted through the northwestern forests and plains at will, taking land, killing livestock, and causing general hell. They also had a great deal of power in the political world of Minnesota. Their past leaders had made great connections and made it a point to keep the clan alive and well through any means possible.

Throughout the years, the alpha's family progressed in power. Ben's brother, Jim, had left the clan to become the prime minister of the Northern States. After the death of their father, now known as Pierre, his position had passed on to Ben. Ben was the first born son of their alpha and had a strong, sturdy build. He was the only member of his family to have a talent in a skill, and that was his talent of carpentry. He had a knack for constructing anything out of wood. His house was a giant castle of wood, wooden furniture, and a whole cabin. It was second to none, and Uncle Jim came there frequently for vacations. He had a son and a daughter, both born to Uncle Jim and Aunt Dung who had married into the lodge's family.

Ketchum Lodge was father to three sons, Harrison, Ben, and Thomas. As the oldest, Harrison had his own territory and family. Thomas, the youngest, went to live with his Uncle Jim because he was young and wanted to be away from his father's shelter. He was the only one to have the talent of technology. He was the youngest of the family and was from a very large family. He had come to be known as the "computer widget genius" and worked for an engineering company.

Weapons got handier and more powerful with every passing year. The lodge's father had been a hunter, but his son Ben was a carpenter. Thomas was an engineer, and Harrison was a soldier. Each generation was different from the last. Ben was well known for his handiness with firearms, and Harrison was well known for his fighting prowess. These three brothers fought with the northwesterners, sometimes together and sometimes alone. Either way, they always killed their enemies. The Northwestern wolves had a small group that dabbled in alchemy, and these wolves had strong spells and magic. Because of this, the Northeasterners barely won the fights, except for Thomas. He would shut down the power of his opponents, but this never really stopped the fights.

The lodge was very well organized, and was the only pack that held a concealed certificate for concealed weapons. It was a seventeen-year-old law, and made it so that no one under the age of seventeen could have a gun or a wolf repellent. Because of this, the lodge had no trouble acquiring any kind of weapon. They had an armory and had many guns and solutions of wolf repellent and wolf repellents. Some of these wolves had an arsenal of weapons and explosives, with TNT and C-4's hidden in their house.

One of their enemies was known as Ardita and the rest of her pack. They were the wolves of the Northwestern United States. They were joined by the pack of Thrace, who was another entire pack of werewolves. Thrace and Ardita were in love, but had never told anyone.

One Tuesday night, Benjamin's brother, Harrison, went out on a hunt for Ardita and her pack. Like most of the pack, he went on all-out raids. He went to Ardita's family cabin, out by the border of their territory. He was the only one from their clan to do so, others would only search to assess the enemy, or they'd send a smaller band along with Harrison to defend him, but he would go out unsupervised. He was looking for a full moon, and was searching for someone he had trusted in the past. When he walked in with some friends, Ardita's entire pack was there. Harrison summoned his entire pack and issued the order to attack them. This surprised the others, but they did as he said. Armed and completely outnumbered, they had no choice but to fight. Harrison was prepared to charge in on them, but was stopped by the commanding officer of the battalion, who was the eldest brother of Harrison. Ardita, who had been hiding in the last corner, was watching all this, and came out.

"Why have you come here?" Ardita asked. She was unceremoniously and loudly angry. In the day before, Harrison had told them not to invade the territory of the lodge. They sent her a message, explaining what they were doing, and their refusal to stop.

"We are here because of the wolf repellent law," Harrison responded. "The law makes it illegal for a werewolf younger than seventeen to have a gun, so we are planning to invade and destroy your pack, then seizing your weaponry. We are here for the weapons."

The older brother of Harrison stepped in. "My brother, my brother, you have not heard the law correctly. It was passed late last year, a law that was put into place because of the threat to the lives of our wolves. If you are trying to invade our pack, you will leave here dead, and the rest of you will be disbanded."

"You make a statement, but it doesn't hold any justice," Harrison responded. "In my mind, this law is completely wrong. I will not stand by and let my family's weaponry be destroyed by you. I am the only one who can call upon the court to help defend you and the rest of your pack. I am the only one who can help the rest of you. That's why I brought some of my men here, because they are under my command, and they'll follow my orders."

"It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter," Ardita mumbled. "I think it is more than obvious that you are the reason that he doesn't want to follow the law." She pointed her finger at Harrison. "You're the reason he doesn't want to follow his father's last law."

"You think I'm the reason for this?" Harrison asked. "I've been nothing but a good brother, how could I be a bad wolf?"

"You're the reason he doesn't want to follow his father's last law," Ardita said. "You are not the only soldier in this fight. You are not the only soldier who knows the right of war and peace. You may be older and a little bit more wolf than the rest of them, but you will not take your place. You will not be the elder that breaks my lover's heart, and he is my lover that you were supposed to give up, as I was to give up my boy." She put a finger on the older brother's shoulder. "You are the reason that he doesn't want to follow his father's last law."

"What are you talking about?" Harrison asked.

"You don't understand anything, do you?" the middle brother, Ben, asked.

"Is this the one who wants to take down the underage laws?" the commander of the unit asked Benjamin.

"Yes. We are not going to let a fully grown wolf be taken down by an underage wolf, because he is rational and knows the law, and deserves to fight," Ardita said.

"How do you know Harrison, if all this information is kept secret?"

"We will not tell you of the full story. I will say then, for you to hear, that we do have a plan, and it does involve Harrison, the command of this unit, and all of us. But, if you do not agree with my request, we will show you how to help us win this war with the weapon laws."

"What do you need us to do that you cannot do," the officer asked.

"This is the truth. If you agree to help us, the criminals, then you are going to run into something else."

"And who is doing this?"

"Thrace. He is helping us spring our trap, through Harrison," Ardita said.

"So, our weaponry will be taken by wolves who are under age?" the commander asked. "We can't agree to that."

"Harrison isn't fully grown, yet. He's still a wolf pup," Ardita responded.

"How much wolf can he be?"

"Between one and two years," Ardita said, sounding cold and calm.

"Is that all?" the commander asked. "As a commanding officer, I'm telling you, we can't agree to this."

"You will agree, and then you can hear anything else you want to hear," Ardita said, reaching suddenly in her pocket.

"Ardita, don't…" and Harrison's older brother said, but she had already had his gun in her hand and pointed at him.

"It was the only way," Ardita said. "I knew you wouldn't understand. Some wolves know the rules, and they think they know everything. Put up your hands. The gun is empty."

"How can you have the gun in your hand?" Harrison asked.

"The weapon laws are made on the idea of safety. It's stupid, but we live by it. I was never alive to be caught by it. I was born in good standing. I had the gun with me, and I was allowed to bring it with me. If you don't believe me, take my gun. You'll see that it's full size and that it's empty. The bullet is already in the chamber. Now, give it to me. Let me hold my gun, I'll put it on my belt, and then you may hold your gun," Ardita said.

The commander slowly handed over the gun. She took the gun and put it on her belt. "I hope you know that I was never going to shoot you. There were two blueprints of the lodge. Under the air condition the blueprint had a gun, the other blueprint didn't. We put down a trap, placed the gun in the blueprint, and then place the gun in a special space in the basement. I had the gun on my belt, and it ran into the blueprint, destroying the blueprint. Roland, the elder of the pack, is going to try and find another blueprint. He's going to think that we meant the gun, and he's going to waste a lot of time, so we have time to do a lot of things. Harrison, I think it's time to go inside the lodge."

"But, I thought this was a legal battle," Harrison said.

"Yes, it is. It is a legal battle because Aaron didn't tell us a thing about this… this war, but I know that in a war, laws are made, and then changed. I don't say that I agree with that, but we're here, so I'm going to treat them as changed," Ardita said.

"What are you talking about?" Harrison asked. "What laws?"

"Yes, this is it. We are going in," Ardita said.

The two brothers, the two officers and the two siblings came together to the door of the lodge. Ardita smiled, Harrison looked shifty and nervous, his older brother looked stunned and angry, the two officers looked amused and interested, but not surprised, and Benjamin looked angry. "When we come back here, not one of you tells anyone that you had to hear about the plan because a soldier wanted to challenge the laws that he always had to obey. Understood?"

"Understood," said the sergeant, and then came slowly.

With that, they left the lodge and soon they were in their vehicles. They headed to the room they had rented, and they stood together as they talked together. It was already night time when they left their room in the lodge. Benjamin and his brothers are going to follow their plan while they were on their way.
