Geunteut is the name of the aceh people who call the mythical creatures of ancient times believed by the life of traditional aceh society.
Geuntet is a supernatural being believed to be a ghost with a black shape and is very tall and large, curly hair, and sometimes carrying a pot that is called "geunteut kanet" (a geunteut pot.
Geunteut commonly encountered in the middle of the road, blocking the journey of people at night.
This creature often deceives the person he or she encounters in the forest by exposing the false path to the person, until the person gets lost and falls into the forest or dead end
Geunteut also often kidnaps people and puts it at the end of a bamboo tree.
In fact, it is said he likes to kidnap small children who are out of the house at sunset time, however, when they realize they will find themselves in a place they do not know.
Not long afterward, the child would feel his hair being groped by his terrible skinny fingers. The fingers would then hold a pinch of the boy's hair to lift it off the ground and take it somewhere - usually in the middle of a bamboo forest or on a tree. According to legend, children who become victims of abduction will be eaten alive by the supernatural being.
Geunteut moves by stepping its long legs and disappearing behind the bamboo grove and shrubs.

Dear steemian , sekarang aku akan posting tentang mitologi dari aceh , yaitu makhluk mistis yang bernama geunteut
Geunteut adalah sebutan dari masyarakat aceh yang menamai makhluk mistis pada zaman dahulu yang diyakini ada oleh kehidupan masyarakat aceh tradisional.
Geuntet adalah makhluk gaib yang diyakini sebagai hantu dengan wujud hitam dan berukuran sangat tinggi dan besar , rambutnya keriting, dan terkadang membawa periuk yang disebut “kanet geunteut” (periuk geunteut.
Geunteut biasa ditemui ditengah jalan, menghadang perjalanan orang diwaktu malam hari.
Makhluk ini sering mengelabui orang yang ditemuinya dihutan dengan cara menampakkan jalan palsu pada orang tersebut , hingga orang tersebut tersesat dan jatuh ke hutan atau jalan buntu
Geunteut juga sering menculik orang dan meletakkannya di ujung pohon bambu.
Bahkan, konon ia senang menculik anak kecil yang keluar rumah pada saat waktu terbenam matahari , Namun, ketika sadar mereka akan menemukan dirinya berada di suatu tempat yang tidak dikenalnya.
Tidak lama kemudian, anak itu akan merasakan rambutnya diraba-raba oleh jari-jari kurus yang mengerikan. Jari-jari itu kemudian akan menggenggam sejumput rambut anak itu untuk mengangkatnya dari tanah dan membawanya ke suatu tempat – biasanya ditengah hutan bambu atau di atas pohon. Menurut legendanya, anak-anak yang menjadi korban penculikan akan dimakan hidup-hidup oleh makhluk gaib tersebut.
Geunteut bergerak dengan melangkahkan kakinya yang panjang dan menghilang dibalik rumpun bambu maupun semak belukar.
