Their was a girl, her name is Ally. She just turned 18. She grew up in a very small town near the river, all her friend was very fond of her. No matter the situation Ally always tried to be helpful and supportive. She was always happy and always positive and that made that everyone wanted to spend time with her.
Her parents were always supportive and she could talk to them about anything. When she had a rough day she would go and sit with her dad and just pour her heart out. He was so wise he knew how to motivate her and it will always ended up with both of them laughing.
Ally was chosen to be the head girl of Sport. She loved her sports and it was an honor for her to be in this position and also hard work and motivating the other students.
It was already the third week in the new year and the time has gone so quickly , it felt like she lost some time in between. Although it has been busy she was excited about the year and about all the events that's going to happened. The most exciting part is they are going on a camp, its for all the top students in all the grade. They were about 50 learners.
Finally the time has come for them to leave for the camp. You could hear all the excitement on the bus, they were singing songs and laughing and just having fun.
They have arrived at their destination and everyone was getting their bags and headed for their rooms. Ally was blown away by all the beauty around her that for a moment she lost track of time and her friends, until one of them came to look for her. That afternoon was packed with swimming, playing volleyball and horse rides. That evening it didn't take long to fall a sleep.
The next morning she woke up with fresh air and birds singing in the treas. "Wow, I could woke up like this everyday", Ally thought to herself. She got up, got dressed and went out for a walk.
Along the way she met one of her friends, Garry was sitting by the river. She could see he was busy with something but when he saw her he did something with his hands and got up to meet her.
"Morning Garry, did you sleep well?" Ally asked
"Morning Ally, yes than you and you?"
" Great thanks, It was so nice to wake up here next to the lake. What are you up to?"
She could see he felt a little embarrassed and hesitant "I.... I was just taking a walk and enjoying the fresh air"
They started walking again and talked about a lot of different topics . She left Garry and turned back. She thought about when she saw Garry, what bothered her is that he was busy with something but she just could not get her head around it. When she saw her best friend she pushed the toughts aside and met up with her friends.
They went for breakfast and as soon as they were done their started their activities.
The days past so quickly and they had so much fun but so did the last day came for them before they left. That night teay made a bomb fire and talked about all the fun stuff they did the past few days. Everyone made jokes, Ally was just sitting their listening to everyones stories. she looked around in the sircle and her eyes came to rest on Garry. She was just staring at him, He was handsome, intelligent and everyone loved him. He was the captain of their first rugby team, everything seemed so good. She thought again of that first morning that she had seen him next to the river, "what did he do before he saw her?". She got startled when someone touched her shoulder. It was Samantha.
"Please come and join us, we are going to Garry's room and just talk for a wile . It's the last night we are here." Samantha said
Ally smiled and got up and went with her. They came to Garry and the other boys room and entered. She had this strange feeling when she entered, something was off. She acted normal. First they just sat their and talked and laughed about all the funny stuff that has happened. Garry told about Stephens moment of panic when they pranced him with a plastic snake that they have put under his pillow. He got so scared that he fell out of his bed and ran out off the room. and so they shared the stories. Then Garry got up and went out of the room. When he came back he had a bottle of Vodka in his hands. When Ally saw this her whole body went cold, "what to do, what to do?", she couldn't think clear.
She got up and asked if they would excuse her, "Its been a long day and I am really tired". Before anyone could say something Stephan got up with her and said he will walk with her. They both left the room. Ally felt relieved, she didn't know what she would have done if they have asked her to stay. She was so thankful of stephan. He didn't say a word but you could see he was upset about what just happened in their. Stephen greeted her and turned around and walked away.
Ally was so trouble about what just happened, she stared praying and ask God to make her calm. Soon after that she fell asleep.
The buss ride was very quite, everyone was tired and wanted to get home. Seven of her friends that stayed in Garry's room were sleeping because of all the fun they had, that no one knew about.
Ally was so glad to see her parents, they talked about the camp and then she excused herself and went to sleep. Her parents could see something is wrong with Ally, but they decided to let her sleep for a while and then talk to her. That evening at the table her mom asked her what was wrong. Ally put down her knife and fork and looked sown. She took a deep breath and then told her parents what happened. The drinking didn't upset her that much but the fact that all 7 of them are leaders at school. They are suppose to be an example to the younger students. She didn't no what to do.
"O Ally" mom said "you did the right thing to walk out. You know that me and dad always motivate you to stand for the truth even if it is hard sometines. You know that what they did is not right and maybe its just part of the fun but all eyes are on you because you are leaders. What do you feel in your heart?"
"Mom, I have to speak to one of the teachers about this, at school they are very strict about alcohol and everything that goes with this. If they don't get punish for this and learn from this what will happen next?" Ally replied. Her parents could see she was upset about this.
"Do the right thing my dear Ally, their will be learners that will say things behind your back and make life difficult for you but you must decide. At the end God knows your heart and He will give you wisdom, just trust Him". Dad added
Ally went to one of the teachers the following day and told her what happened. Her friends got called in and faced hearings, this went on the whole day. Ally felt so sad about this, all of them was angry at her but she knew in her heart that this is right.
At the end all 7 of them were expelled from school for a week and there leadership was taken from them until the end of this term. Ally felt bad for them and sad, her mom and dad reminded her on doing the right thing now will reap fruits at the end. To live with a burden will only grow bigger and heavier and it will take her joy away.
Moral of the story:
When we teach our children to speak the truth at all times they will reap the fruit at the end. Every time will be easier to stand your ground. I have teached my children to always speak the truth because we are never alone and God is always with us to help us through difficult times. It will make it easier to make the decision between right and wrong and when situations like in this storie happens it will make it easier for them to do the right thing.
Motivating our children form a young age will help them to be grown ups with passion, integrity and someone who you could rely on at all times. Motivation boosts our children to belief in themselves.
May you be inspired and enjoy every moment you get to spend with your child.
