Wow, this almost reminds me of ME. When we were all little, both parents worked in the burger joint they co-owned. Us kids tended to get in the way sometimes, wanting attention or food. One day I got into trouble for whatever reason, am guessing for not getting out of the way. I was sent to my room. I was alone at the age of 6-7, found a bobby pin and started messing around with it. I eyed an outlet, and bam. Guess they either heard my scream or lights flicker, or something. I burned my fingers and was out like a light. I woke with them wrapping me in a blanket. That is all I remember. But, we were never left alone after that. All us kids had to be sure to be around each other, and in eyesight.
Loved this story @jbn.

O my... that could have been fatal. You are lucky that you just got burns on fingers.. i am glad that you are safe now. I generally dont blame parents because when i became one, i realized that “simply taking care of my child” is not as simple as it sounds.. it is only then we realize the true value of our own parents.. god bless your parents. They worked hard and took care of you too.. thats not an easy task..
They had 5 of us, so they for sure had it rough. :-)
