Filecoin ICO has received a lot of hype and even when you need to be an accredited investor to get in (either in the US or elsewhere), it has managed to raise, in a few hours, the shocking amount of USD 187,424,550.
The sale is paused now although it will continue. The reason Filecoin decided to pause, is because they are verifying transactions, due to the very large amount they received during the first hour.
People who bought during the first hour received an average price of USD 2.63 per FIL. At the sale was paused, price was already USD 4.68 - an "instant" return on paper of almost 80%. And it will keep going up until the sale ends.

I do think Filecoin is a great investment and due to the amount raised, I think a lot of people do too. Only time will tell.
