No Country for Old Men(2007)-An ambiguous story
This movie is such a mindfuck that makes me watch it twice just to have things clear about it. It`s an unusual movie, a dark one full of interesting characters.
The main plot
Llewelyn Moss find two millions dollars after a drug deal that goes wrong. Wonderful idea, such a big amount of money, but those things do not come free and soon Llewelyn must pay a the price for being the wrong man in a wrong situation. Anton Chigurh(as Havier Bardem) is turn against him meantime an old cop, Ed Tom Bell(as Tommy Lee Jones) finds out about the deal.
Distribution
Llewelyn Moss(Josh Brolin) is the lucky one that put his hand on the money whose life soon will get on an dangerous road. Anton Chigurh(Havier Bardem) whose money were lost is set to kill and get back his fortune. We also have Ed Tom Bell(Tommy Lee Jones) as an old cop and Carson Wells(Woody Harrelson) who tries to help Llewelyn.
Is there a secret life lesson?
Besides that we learn how dangerous is to be the wrong person at the wrong time, this movie do not give many lessons. As I said at the beginning is a dark movie in which “the good guys” do not win in end. Llewelyn is the one that turn on the action but is he the main character? I think not. If we read the title:No Country for Old Men, we do not get many answers at the end when the movie is watched. I believe that the best part of the movie is Javier Bardem role, his character is simply full of mistery, an unstoppable assassin that always reaches his targets.
But what is the movie really about?
The end brings the sheriff Ed Tom Bell after he failed in his mission, reflecting. This could be the title explanation and he could be the old man that no longer fit in this world.
In conclusion
I really liked this movie and besides his mindfuck course is a masterprice. The actors play wonderful and the views are marvelous.
I saw this movie, it's very interesting
