Jaws, an interactive experience?

Every time I go to the beach, my mind instantly plays two of the scariest musical notes in history.

Ba dum. Ba dum. Ba dum!

I'm not really afraid of sharks. They aren't the monsters that haunt my dreams. If I were going to pick any aquatic animal it would most likely be some hybrid alligator/crocodile prehistoric attacker that could swallow me whole al la Captain Hook from Peter pan. But when I'm at the beach, my mind instantly goes to Jaws.

Jaws, the biggest, baddest, killingest, shark of all time. He comes from no where to chomp unsuspecting swimmers and boaters to pieces with only a small fin as a warning - and that terrifying music. That is scary is stuff. To this day I refuse to ride on the back end of a banana boat and if I'm on a raft and something touches me, I'm convinced he's lurking beneath the surface.

So how do you make this movie more scary? Oh, I know. Why not have the entire audience sit in innertubes and watch the movie while they float? Who's ridiculous idea was this?!

In Texas on Lake Travis you and your friends can float around on a summer night and scare yourselves stupid while watching Jaws, Jaws 2, Jaws 3 and Jaws: The Revenge on a big screen similar to a drive in. It's an interactive experience that I'm not sure anyone asked for! Can you imagine floating around, at night, in a lake, with that music playing loudly over a speaker? I guess the good news is, if you wet your pants no one will know...

I just read about this. I am not sure I could sit in a pool of water and watch that movie in the dark. It is a favorite movie in this house, and Maddie's first entrée into horror movies at the age of three, right before we went to the beach. We watch it every year right before we go on our family beach vacation. I guess there is a little bit something twisted about our family humor.

I love this movie as well! There's something sickly fantastic about watching it right before you go to the beach or even while you are there. We even talked about it before we went on the jetski's this year. But I don't know that I could sit in a lake and watch this at night.... yikes!

That is an amazing setting to watch JAWS! There's something about that movie poster too. It's one of my favorites, composition-wise. Classic. Terrifying.

If by amazing you mean terrifying I agree... Though, I'm not saying I wouldn't do it! This poster is amazing. Simple and tells you exactly what the movie is going to be about. I'm also a fan of Halloween's poster and in other genre's I'd say West Side Story and Breakfast at Tiffany's are both pretty amazing.

Well written post on a horrific subject! I'm terrified. No other way to say it. Not watching it EVER!!

And don't forget the importance of music in this film. Scariest music ever. No forgetting once you've heard it.

A good score for a movie makes a huge difference. I'd say this is probably the most recognizable score for a film. Halloween is also pretty easy to identify and it strikes terror when you hear it as well.
