Today I had the opportunity to attend the "National Day of Mexican Cinema" at the Cineteca Nacional. In theatre number 4, the Mexican movie "The golden dream" ( La jaula de oro) was presented.
The function was announced at 13:00 hrs. But oh surprise!!, inside theatre before the function was presented the director who participated in the movie "Luis Salinas Tinajero", and with microphone in hand spoke in front of all present to welcome us and put us in context of the theme of the movie.
He mentioned that the film is from 2013 and that today has won 86 awards!
In wikipedia appear some of the awards, apparently not updated, but is enough to give us an idea.
Three teenagers, Sara, Juan, and Samuel leave Guatemala for lack of opportunities in order to reach the United States to seek a better quality of life. After crossing the border with Guatemala they are joined by another young indigenous who does not speak Spanish. This is one of many stories that reflects the stark reality of all that illegal immigrants have to endure on this long road to the United States.
I keep the final message what it is:
Help, support, solidarity and above all tenacity.
I like the film, i think it's worth seeing.
This is the official trailer of the movie:
The next song appears in the party scene, I will have to add to my playlist……. je je!!! ;)
The “Cineteca Nacional” is one of my favorite places in México City to enjoy movies of art cinema.
It is a very pleasant place to enjoy cinema, either alone or accompanied.
The atmosphere in the place is nice and the people are very friendly.
It is a good option to meet people who share the same taste for cinema.
