I have this habit of collecting stills from every film that has made a mark in my life. Whenever I have seen a movie that moved me in any kind of way, I always rewatch it—twice or thrice, and on different occasions—just so I could grab screenshots of the scenes that I consider memorable, those that reflect the color palette used in each film, and those that best represent the film.
Here are some of them. Enjoy!
Pulp Fiction (1994)
This film is Tarantino's finest work (well, for me). Also, the word "fuck" was said to be used more than 260 times.
Blue is the Warmest Color (2013)
This film won the Palme d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. I loved Adele in this film, and so did the critics.
Closer (2004)
All hail Natalie Portman! From Alice to Jackie—stripper to first lady.
Wild (2014)
The real-life Cheryl Strayed picked Reese Witherspoon to portray her in this film.
Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
George Clooney , Bill Murray, and Meryl Streep. In a Wes Anderson animated film.
Before Sunrise (1995)
Jesse and Celine met. And they meet again after nine years in Before Sunset which was also released nine years later in 2004.
Brooklyn (2015)
No, I couldn't be the only one who had a crush on Saoirse Ronan. She received 51 award nominations for her performance.
The Danish Girl (2015)
At first, I thought the poster was just a prop for marketing, but the film really did deliver.
Carol (2015)
This film received a 10-minute standing ovation at its international premiere at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
Because Wes Anderson is undeniably an artist!
